Just poping in with a Happy New Years Eve to everybody! 2008 was a busy and life changing year for me. Would take more time and energy than I have right now to type it all out. Let's just say..I'm a whole new me. So many positive changes. So many health challenges. Learned to take and live one day at a time. Became a lot more at peace and focused. Found all of you here and build my support team in that way. Yea...2008 was a very interesting year for me. Looking forward to 2009.
Happy New Year all. Even though 2008 flew by, there certainly was a lot packed in. Time moves way too fast. We are staying in since I'm still recovering from my surgery, but we probably would anyway. Three of four kids are with friends and one homebody staying in with us. For no particular reason we ate a lot today. My goal is to be back to my new "normal" tomorrow. We have our traditional New Years meal for good luck, Pork, Sauerkraut, and black eyed peas. It's not the kids favorite meal but they eat it anyway. We are way too superstitious not to have it! Wishing you all a happy healthy 2009.

DD was a flower girl, started Kindy, lost her first tooth...all sorts of fun milestones.
DS started Montessori, and we shifted from being heavy daycare users to having our children at home (with a sitter) for part of the day, which was a big thing for us.
DH got a promotion at work. I worked my tail off and got recognition (but no promotion). We bought a new minivan and traded in my Lexus and DH's Tahoe -- bringing us back down to 2 cars from the 3 we had before.
And...it was in June that we went on vacation, and the pictures of me that were taken on the beach motivated me to improve my fitness and health. So I went from not being able to run a mile to doing my first 5K by the end of the summer, dropping 2-3 clothing sizes, and becoming much stronger and healthier.
I think the personal changes this year far outweighed the professional ones. And it was a very good year.
Tonight, DH suggested we go out to dinner. We might hit Hibachi for the sushi bar - hope it's not crowded! Then we are heading to a friend's house for a low-key party. The kids are already at my mom's, since DH and I both had to work today.
