Since we're all probably supposed to have one annually, was sort of surprised to find no information here about the new and improved bowel prep for colonoscopies.
I'm fairly bad about getting mine on schedule. It's been 3yrs since my last one so maybe this is old news.
Instead of being required to drink the nasty tasting "ginger" flavored Phospho-soda, my prep instructions were 4 docolax tablets at noon followed by an entire bottle of Miralax divided between two 32oz bottles of Gatorade, starting the Gatorade at 5pm and drinking it all in 8oz increments within 2 hours.

As with the nasty-tasting prep, I didn't have a particularly good night's sleep. Was up and down to the bathroom anywhere from every 15mins to 2 hours beginning at about 8pm and ending at some point between 2 and 3am (it was all starting to be a blur by that then).
My appointment this morning was at 7am and I was home by 10am. Had breakfast, went back to bed for about 3hours and feel *almost* perky now.
Just wanted to post that the new procedure is a vast improvement over the previous method. We deserve some kind of a break!
