You can't count total steps in a day. However, if you are hustling around & it's a workout, you can. I know there is a couple on their team doing the steps when waitressing, etc. And on the NCCA team there's a post to convert steps to minutes.

Hey. I have a question about the fitness challenge, but I don't want to give the OU fans any ideas. ; ) I have just posted my actual exercise minutes for yesterday, but that is not counting the walking and running around I do during the day just doing errands and everyday stuff. If I got a pedometer and tracked what I walked during the day, should I count that as minutes in our fitness challenge? I know I would have to do some sort of conversion of steps to minutes or something like that. Just curious because it looks like the ou fans are kicking our butts so far...

Right now it's even. If it is uneven at posting time we will average total minutes by # of people to make it fair:) By all means, if you want to track your minutes every day go ahead. It might be a good idea to do that so you know you won't forget to post by deadline:) You can edit your post every day to add every days minutes:)On the NCAA team at the bottom there's a place to post your minutes, one for them, one for us.Have them posted by noon on the 8th.

I re-read the challenge team site and now I get it. Do we still have even numbers of team members competing?
I do my best at everything else. Why should taking care of myself be any different?

Okay, will I just write my minutes on the page, or do I have to make my fitness tracker public, or how exactly do I post? I sure don't want to screw it up and get use a penalty!
F.Y.I I usually do 30 minutes, but I will try my best to push to 60. I can't promise that will happen every day, but I will definitely push myself more than ever (I'll need it at this point, anyway!).

Are we doing total minutes for both teams? If we are and they have more people, that isn't quite fair.
I typically do 30 minutes a day. For a while there I was doing 60 minutes a day so I will strive to do that again.

You asked what it would take to beat them. I looked at their team fitness minutes compared to ours. They have almost 800 more minutes this month than us, but also have 12 more people on their team. So our minutes are a little more than theirs. However, not everyone on both teams is in on the challenge, so don't really know. Just push yourself to do what you can safely.:)

I normally do about 30 minutes during my lunch. I can shoot for an extra 30 minutes after work too.

OK, OK, so I guess I'm the lazy one. I usually do cardio exercise for 30 minutes a day total. Not counting walking or doing normal everyday stuff. I was going to try to squeeze in an extra 20 mins for the challenge. Honestly, I want to know what we need to do to win. How many minutes a day do each of you guys normally do?

Our challenge starts tomorrow. How much minutes do you usually get in a day? I challenge you to push yourself to get at least 1/2 hour more than that per day! I usually get 120 minutes a day, I'm going to push to get 150 starting tomorrow! Can you match & put up an extra 1/2 hour?:)
