I take fish oil in capsule form, 1 in am 1 in pm. I get them in Sams club, weren't expensive at all. Just make sure bottle says mercury free.

What exactly is fish oil? I heard of it but thats about it. Is it a pill? or oil to add into foods when you cook?

I barely eat beef burgers. We buy ground turkey to have turkey burgers. Buy skinless and breaded chicken.

Nothing is fried in this house. I mean maybe the breaded chicken is before we buy it because all we need to do is pop it in the toaster oven.

I know in general I need to up my excerise. The dr said we both need to get at least 30-40mins of just walking if anything every single day. Even in the snow.

I agree with Penny.

My cholesterol was 278, I took fish oil twice a day (made sure was mercury free) and started eating clean 5 - 6 small meals a day along with exercise, w/o meds, it's now 178. For me the key was diet and exercise. All my meats were lean

Eat more fish, oats, fruits, vegetables, and legumes, and use oils like olive and cannola oil. And exercise does help :)

Visit the Dr today for the result from my blood test. I have high bad chorlesterol and low good chorlesterol.

The only good news is...my good chorlesterol is better then my husband's. lol

So I need help. I have no idea how I can lower the bad and up the good. What kind of foods can I eat? The dr said to also excerise..well duh. I've been trying.

Both hubby and and I have to go back in Janaury for a follow up. If my chorlesterol isn't better, he'll have to put me on some meds to help. I hate taking pills. My parents already take meds for their high chorlesterol. urgh.

So any help to make my chorlesterol better.
