lists Austin Parks & Recreation Dept pools. Most of them are only open during the summer. There used to be a north Austin pool that stayed open year-round (I think on Amherst Drive), but I don't think it's open year-round any more. Balcones Pool, 12017 Amherst Dr.

Call before you go to Deep Eddy, 401 Deep Eddy Dr, because they have been under construction.

Big Stacy Pool, 800 E Live Oak, is open year-round. It's in South Austin.

Barton Springs Pool in Zilker Park is open year-round.

Call or email Parks & Rec on Monday to check this info out.

Deep Eddy pool near Lady Bird Lake is open every day of the year. City of Austin Dept. of Parks and Recreation does not have any indoor pools.

I think every neighborhood in Austin has an outdoor pool for residents. You just show your proof of address.

24 Hour Fitness on 183 has a nice large pool. I dont know their terms to join now, though. You can see at Www.24hourfitness.com .

Hi all. I am relatively new to Austin, live North Austin and am looking for a place to swim laps. Indoor or outdoor. I'm on a budget and dont want to get into any kind of contracts. I was hoping for a local/neighborhood pool.

I'd also LOVE to find a place for adult roller skating/blading. I would prefer indoor and someplace that isnt swamped with children.

Any suggestions?
