Good morning. It has snowed here but not enough for snow shoes yet I am hoping the snow stays away for a bit longer. We still have some yard work that really needs to be done before the snow really hits, I am still really busy. But trying to stay on track. I am feeling positive !!

Time to make new goals? I'm with you there. I got my second arm 'operated' on yesterday. I plan on it healing soon enough so I will be able to crochet for all my children and grandchildren for Christmas.

Good morning I am on my last two weeks vacation for this year! This is my time to clean up our yards and barns and house and make teddy bears for Christmas. Now that summer is over it is time to make new goals for the fall and winter. It is my least active time of year. I have to make a huge effort to stay active and keep my energy up. I bought a new set of snow shoes. Hopefully they will get lots of use ! :). I hope you all have a great day!!!

If I am busy I don't have time to cheat. I managed to make time for main meals and healthy snaks ,,I made extra food and used the extra as lunches for the next day. So less cooking was a bonus! :)

I'm finally losing weight again. Being busy helped you from cheating on your meal plans? Being busy is what has helped me stick to my meal plan too. It's a bit odd. I thought if I was busy, I wouldn't have time to stick to my meal plan. It was just the opposite. Sticking to my meal plan made things much easier. (I didn't have time to make up excuses for not sticking to the diet plans.)

Hi everyone! The summer was definitely a busy one for me!! I hope everyone had a great one! I have managed to lose more weight !! Being busy really helped me from cheating on my meal plans. I still have 18 pounds to lose but I am on track and focused!! Going into the fall months,,,,which is my favorite time of year!! I plan to continue to focus on my goal hoping I will reach it by Christmas! I am so close,,, I feel great!

Hi there!! The summer for me is very busy. I have managed to maintain my weight I have a family get together coming up next weekend and after it is over things will begin to slow down a bit so I can focus on me again :) I really love not feeling sore and tired all the time. Losing the 25 pounds that I have lost already has made me more energetic. I hope everyone is having a great summer!!

Hey, everybody! How's it going? What are you doing this summer to improve or maintain your health/fitness?
I am making changes, slowly..... but I'm sticking with them.
What are you doing to eat right? I'm finding it much easier to do the fruit and veggie bit.

I have been a busy beaver so far on my vacation. But I have got to start eating right. Or I will lose ground! I have to make time to eat properly. Not just fit something in....I am bad for that. I have to start planning my meals. It has been hot here the last couple day so we are too hot for hot meals and no vehicle for me to go to the grocery store. ( my son has borrowed mine for the week) So I have to be creative I guess. :)

emoticon The children had a great time. I enjoyed visiting with everyone. My son bar-b-q-ed burgers and hot dogs. I was happy that they also had some diet cola. The cakes were beautiful. I did not even taste one. I figure, With one arm not working to well, I can't burn the calories off. If I don't eat it, I don't need to worry about it. May sound silly, but it seems to be working for me right now.
There were two little twin girls about 3 years of age. They always have beautiful smiles on there faces. I met their mother. Oh my goodness! The smile runs in the family!
Here is a goal for Summer 2013: smile at least once everyday. Your smile could cause someone else to smile too. Let's generate some good energy! emoticon

A wonderful day! I'm going to a party tonight! Let's see how much trouble I can get into with a bunch of 2-8 year old children at a birthday party.
I should take this as an opportunity to run. The children love to make me chase them.
Garden? I have more sun on the back side of my house this time of year. I think I'll try to grow something. I'm told by a grandchild, to grow potatoes and tomatoes. I think I'm going to try strawberries and green beans.

"Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, to the doctor I will go." Doesn't that sound happy? I go in tomorrow afternoon. I'm more independent to day. My daughter, son-in-law and grandchild left me here alone this morning.
I turned into......... I don't know, I just wanted to sound dramatic.haha
I took a shower (with a bread sack over my arm), brewed some coffee and put a load of clothes in the washing machine. I even took the dogs out back. They ran around the yard. I walked.
I'm taking the time to heal. My daughter is making that possible, but golly..... when I'm at my daughter's house, I want to help out.
"Summer 2013, I am going to run 10 miles, non-stop by the beginning of Autumn"!

That sounds great. I just laid in bed with my arm elevated most of the day. It's funny how I didn't realize how much I did every day, until I lost the use of one of my arms. I may be using it again in less than a week.
Thanks to reading KARENMURPHY5 posts and my daughter helping me, I'm not letting go of my health and fitness plans.
I am going to have a 'great and productive' night because I was down all day, elevating my arm. Because I'm not at home, I'm going to organize all of my clothes and stuff. emoticon

So far so good! :) I am really busy with my animals plus a full time job, plus I make teddy bears for online shows and the local gift shop. So I don't have a lot of spare time, but I can never say that I am bored! :). My children are older now so they have their own lives now. I love being active and challenging my self to go above and beyond, my challenge to myself is to actually eat real food , not processed and microwaveable. I have managed to do it so far. I had a habit of picking quick and easy.

Awesome! Sounds like you've got your life working well. Animals are such a joy, that sounds like a dream come true. But don't get me wrong, I know the truth. Animals are hard work, even though your heart is in it.
Hey Team! Does anyone else have an animal or animals that help contribute to their fitness?
Please be sure to note what Karen wrote about a plateau.

I have a hobby farm so I am constantly on the go! I have five small barns to keep clean and lots of birds and rabbits to talk to as I am doing the cleaning :). I Love my animals. So right now my exercise is general farm work. I have an elliptical as well but right now I am relying on the outdoor work to use up the energy ! When I plateau I will use the elliptical to challenge my body beyond the plateau. I think I have it all figured out,, but it will be interesting to see if my plan works. If not I will try something else. :)
It's funny I was thinking about buying a big trampoline, I used to love them when I was a kid. But my youngest is 15 years old and has no interest in one so I can't validate buying one. My husband thinks I am crazy lol My neighbours would have fun watching me play on it!! They would think I had gone senile early. emoticon

My goal is to spend time with my grandchildren, doing fun things. They seem to think I am their playmate. So, if you see a forty-six year old woman climbing through boxes with children up to 7 years old, Yes, it's probably me.haha
I am trying to keep myself on the 'now' of it. I'll lose the weight after.......... whatever. No, I need to lose it now. Life is easier without needing to lug around an extra 45 pounds of fat on my body.
Thanks for sharing your fruit and veggie preferences. I love those. I'm going to eat more of them now.

I have another question. Summer 2013: Exercise:
What are your idea's for exercise?
I'm going to walk. I'm hoping to get into running again. Aerobic dance is always fun.
Please, everyone that can contribute an idea for exercise helps.
Does anyone swim? It's really not my thing, but I know other people that love to.

Good morning! I love apples and bananas, kiwis, strawberries and blueberries! I eat apples and bananas the most as they are the easiest to pack for my lunches!
Veggies I eat are usually cooked , steamed. Sometimes I enjoy a nice veggie tray and dip. But mainly in the summer months, I love broccoli and cauliflower with an herb and spice dip. I have a veggie garden every summer so I get fresh snow peas and yellow beans and beets! They are so good steamed!

My attitude has changed so much towards eating and the food I chose. I have stopped beating myself up about a wrong choice ,because I can't change it. I am learning that it is more important to look ahead not behind! I hope that it helps others. I have a long way to go and it will be a constant challenge, but I like feeling energetic, not tired and lethargic . I will be in the best shape of my life before I have my fiftieth birthday!! That is my goal. What is yours? emoticon

I need to add more fruits and veggies to my diet. I know that over half of my aches and pains are due to the weight that I have gained.
A bit of a set back on your eating? I like your attitude. "Confident that I will get it back."
As you told us about a 'set back', and not getting discouraged, it shows us how we should take a 'set back' and use it as an opportunity to get back to eating 'clean'.
Everyone should note, "Don't get discouraged". Thank you. I know a few of us needed that reminder today.
What are your favorite fruits and vegetables? Any specific preparations, like raw, steamed or spices? I like trying new things, different things and things that I can be reminded of.

Good morning! I had a bit of a set back on my eating! But today I feel confident that I will get it back. Sometimes we just don't have the time to eat like we should. But don't get discouraged. My son was kind enough to pop in a frozen pizza in the oven for us! I stopped eating frozen pizzas ages ago but he was so sweet to do it that I couldn't refuse. I was a nice change! So toady I am back to fruits and veggies and eating clean. I hope you all have a great day! Talk soon!!
