Been there and done that, Miss-Overeater :)

The other day my dog let me know that he is still as protective as he used to be from intruders in our yard. He was on my bed looking out the window when the hairs on the back of his neck stood up and a deep growl from his toes started. He growled and cocked his head then broke out into frantic barks.

I looked out the window and didn't see an intruder or another dog or even a cat...

My roommate had washed his large green cooler out and had it upside down on the grass drying out. This apparently was enough to set off my dog's protective instincts and the ruckus that transpired when he finally noticed it.

I can sleep better nights now knowing that no green coolers will sneak up on us and attack us while my dog is on guard.

Okay, I think I have hit my all time low with humor today. Here are some pictures of a guy who runs around having his picture with him wearing a tutu. I found the pictures to be quite funny, but then I thought, hey the artistic statement in some is kind of cool. What do you think...

You just gotta see this.......

oh, nuts....I lost it It was on Huffington Post for today. I am packing to leave for Texas in the morning so I will see what I can do when I get back. If you do not think you can wait for a whole week just google "guy in a tutu" or something to that effect....I am sure you will have interesting results :)

have a great week, all! Julia

Happy Monday!

As some of you may know by now that I am a sap for funny animal videos. Sometimes I think animals are healthier than humans in their interactions with others on this planet. Here are a couple of videos to prove my point. Enjoy!

Good Day everyone! TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going through my emails today I found the most darling video of a kitten playing with a St. Bernard. It isn't the humor that will have you rolling around on the floor giggling, but it certainly brought a big smile. Hope you enjoy.

Okay, Leslie, the thing about the sheets almost did me in. I will not even allow my mind to go there EEEEEWWWWW (not really sure how to spell that but it is the disgusted sound my mind made when I tried to think about what his sheets would be like).

Seriously, I am glad that he had helped you in some way...maybe you did the same for him...at least he got rid of the body parts before you went over emoticon

Holy crow, Julia... I never even wondered if there were body parts in the bags!!! GAH! He was strangely normal in his own unique way and he is the only man I have ever known who called me out on some of my walls and dodgy answers to questions. Can't remember what kind of things he'd ask me, but if he thought I hid behind a quickie answer he yell something in the phone like "Bull****! I asked because I wanted know KNOW!" Cracked me up, but he lacked SO much stability... LOL

I called my bro' Al when I left there and told him about the nightmare carpet, and he snickered and drawled something I can still hear in my head: "Kinda makes ya wonder about his sheets, huh?" I think I screamed and hung up the phone.

OMG now I'm wondering what exactly was in those garbage bags?? I wondered how he could heap the bed of a full-size pickup truck with garbage bags and leave no evidence of cleaning behind in the house...

Yeow.

And since my cell phone number hasn't changed since I got it in 1992 I half expect to hear from him again someday!

OMG Leslie. I can imagine this happening to Stephanie Plum... and thought it was hilarious. Then I thought about this really happening in real life to you and thought OMG! I just cringed when I got to part of the crunchy carpet. Yuck. I am amazed that you were as nice to him as you were. I remember you talking a long time ago about telling a man about being armed but I sure don't remember anything about a crunchy carpet. That is just gross. Thank god you didn't have to arrest him and roll around on the carpet with him trying to cuff him :)

Hope there weren't body parts in the black plastic bags. Makes you wonder since he hadn't cleaned his place. It would make you wonder more if he HAD cleaned and it was still like that emoticon

You've come a long way, baby! Then there is the old saying, "The more I get to know men, the more I love my dogs." I think there is more truth in that than most people realize.

Well, I have found a site today about lessons we can learn from our animals. I got a chuckle out of some of the pictures....especially with the two little kittens playing. Hope this can bring a chuckle to others. Enjoy?

Well, I said I'd share an online dating story, and while I did not laugh at the time, I can laugh now! I was not really committed to the online dating scene - I had so much going on in my life that I really only wanted a diversion and to meet interesting men. I ended up dating a couple of them for several months, but there was no deep compatibility there.

And then there was Crunchy Carpet Guy...

One sunny, fine weekend, I'd finished all my chores, and was feeling relaxed and unpressured by responsibilities. While trading messages online with one guy, I ended up giving him my phone number and he called me. His profile indicated he was overweight, but he was also 6' 7" tall. I asked him about that and, yes, that was right - he really WAS that tall. He was personable and energetic on the phone and half jokingly told me I should go for a drive and meet him. He told me he couldn't go anywhere because he'd just finished loading his truck with garbage to drop off on the way to work the next day... (make a mental note of this)

I'm not a very fearful type woman, so I hit the road for his house. I called my brother-from-another-mother (Al) and told him what I was up to and he said to call him afterwards so he didn't send out the sheriff. No problem.

Got to John Doe's house (I still remember his full name but we'll leave that out here in the interest of privacy...) and he met me outside. Yup. Huge guy. Very tall, and extremely overweight. And then I went inside his house. First thing I noticed was the strong smell of Febreze overlaying the equally strong scent of something herbal that had been smoked (no, not sage).

I looked at him and said, "Dude. Really??" He gave me a manufactured innocent look, and then finally said he was really nervous. Okay, whatever. I already know I am probably not going to see him again. And then I took a step forward. Crunch. On carpet.

Oh dear. Carpet should not crunch. And I was wearing sandals. The voice in my head was screaming, "Do NOT look down! Do NOT look down!!" I did not listen and I looked down.

Wow. If that carpet (dark olive green - I think, though now several years later it occurs to me that the color may not have been original) had EVER seen a vacuum, it had been a while ago. The debris field all across the open living room, dining room and kitchen was horrendous. Dirt, splotches, lumpy things, chunks, and ever so much more that I do not want to think about. My toes curled up like rock shrimp, and I just stared at him. He thought the issue was HERBAL!! Um, hello? THAT was a higher priority than vacuuming?? In hindsight, there was no shop vac in the world that could have tackled that job - it would have required a shovel. Nasty!! Gross! Truly frightening and my bare toes were fractions of an inch away from it all!!

Anyway, the furniture was less scary (though I am sure a black light and Luminol would have showed otherwise) so I sat. I was probably there for a couple of hours before I left. He definitely had charm and intelligence. He was very twitchy (despite the self-medication) and it was hard to carry on a normal (my definition of that was changing on the fly) conversation. I left finally, finding it truly ironic that his truck WAS full of black plastic garbage bags and yet the house showed no evidence of cleaning. None. (trust me - I've edited out some of the details. And, no, I did not use the bathroom even though he said he'd cleaned it and I think he showed me but I have wiped that memory down to smears...)

He and I talked on the phone several times after that. He would call me out of the blue and just want to chat. He finally asked me why I had done a dumb thing like going to meet a strange (I'm sure he just meant unknown) man in his home, and I then told him I'd been packing my .38 with me and I'd felt pretty darned safe... Dead silence on the phone. Was it that surprising??

We probably talked infrequently for the next year, but finally he got mad at me and never called back. He knew I had no intention of dating him, but he told me he was certifiably ADD and was on medication for it. That explained why some of the conversations were more coherent than others, but it was exhausting to attempt to talk to him when he wasn't taking it. On the last call I told him to take a pill and call me back, and that was what tipped him over the edge. I never told him his carpet tipped ME over the edge and that he lives on in infamy with some of my close friends.

And now I hope he's not on Spark... :)

I have been having a great time looking for something funny to share today....been giggling a little bit too.

I found this piece of humor in my stored emails I got from a friend. I really would not advice practicing this bit of advice, but I can certainly see how it could improve one's outlook on life. With that said, read on with that warning in mind. Any bad words you may see are only misspelled words and not intended to offend.

I'm passing this on because it worked for me today... A doctor on TV said to have inner peace we should always finish things we start & we all could use more calm in our lives. I looked around my house to find things I'd started & hadn't finished, so I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiuminun scriptins, an a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how fablus I feel rite now. Sned this to all who need inner piss.

emoticon Kepp smiling my friends (hahaha, I hadn't even finished off the bodle of Baileys yet...just kidding...I just can't type worth a darn)

Well, I am back already. I wanted to add another link that was hilarious and thought provoking at the same time. Robin Williams meets Koko the gorilla and the two get into a tickling match. I was thoroughly entertained by the interactions, then I was mesmerized by the intelligence of Koko (and of course Robin :)

I hope you will take the time to watch and enjoy this short video as much or more than me.

Some studies suggest that just to maintain our health we need to laugh 12 times each day. Many of us get so caught up with trying to become healthy and fit we lose track of living our life each day to its fullest. I know I am guilty of that one.

Laughter can also produce positive thoughts and encourage creativity... isn't that what this team is all about?

Please, EVERYONE, help each other out and post something funny that will assist all of us in getting healthy. A good belly laugh is great for the soul...a little chuckle is not far behind.

I found this link, or I should say it came to me... must be for a very good reason.
