I lived in the D.C. suburbs, a few miles from Andrews AFB. I was 18 and standing next to the photographers when Kennedy's body was taken off the plane with Jackie in the pink dress. At the time and for years I thought I might have liked to meet him, but his untold private life story that has come out over the years, has altered my opinion of him.
I think talking to Eisenhower in 1953 about the transportation system when the Interstate Hwy system was in the works and encouraging him that the Interstate hwy only came close to major cities and not through them. Even with many having beltways around the city, the Interstate still slows down a lot near major cities. I would have also encouraged vast improvements in the railroads so they connected more cities for better passenger service.
