I should clarify that my goal is 50 miles. I think I messed up my first post . . . and I missed recording a day in the thread. :( Oh! I'm such a mess.

My bike is back on the trainer due to some pretty unpleasant weather around here. I should have her back on the pathways in a couple of weeks (I hope). My miles will be on the trainer for the next little while.

Saw the pulmonologist today and I am cleared to slowly start riding again! I may get my 50 miles this month.

Yesterday was my first triathlon. The bike portion was 15 km.

I didn't bring the bike to work because I thought I had a meeting tonight. The meeting is next Monday night. But yanowhat? I'm kinda glad I got the weeks mixed up because I probably should not go for a ride tonight. Tomorrow night will be soon enough.

Yesterday I completed my first organized ride in over in over eight years. For some reason, I had my mind set on completing the 38 mile option (even through there was a 14 and a 25 mile option available). Due some recent events in my life - I was not able to train as I had planned. I cleaned my bikes, lubed the chain and derailers, pumped up the tires and was ready to go. At the last minute, I decided to take my road bike and complete the 38 miles! The last ten miles were tough, but I DID it!! Can't wait to get back out on the bike again :)

Today was a milestone day for me. All my riding to date had been 20 to 45 minute rides for cardio and because I enjoy riding the bike. Today I went to my first group riding event. It was the Spindletop Spin in Beaumont, TX. I had intended to ride 12 miles but was encouraged to try the 29 mile ride by the guys at the bike shop. So.... I took the bait and completed the whole 29 miles even though it took me 2.5 hours. It was awesome, I'm already ready for another ride.

Due to some breathing problems, my MD has limited me to "very short, non strenuous rides". So this month I will only attempt 50 miles.

One Day at a Time:
1) 10,000 steps daily
2) fruit & vegie at every meal
3) aerobic or strength train every day
4) 7 hours sleep daily
5) check in with SP daily


June 2014 goals:
1) lose 4 pounds
2) finish walk way
3) finish blocks for Forest Service quilt
4) scan old photos

My lower miles reflect mountain bike miles. I put in more mileage when road cycling.
