Yay! There's something wonderful about kids on bikes. It's no mystery why Susan B. Anthony said she rejoiced everytime she saw a woman on a bicycle: a bike is freedom, empowerment, autonomy.

Awesome. I remember that day 37 years ago when I rode to school the first time too! Crazy how that memory stayed strong. How cool for your daughter!

Monday morning my daughter was so excited to ride her bike the one mile to school (she is 10 y.o.). She had her lock ready, the tires were all pumped with air. She got her new bike for her birthday in January and the weather is finally warming up. It was 25F when she left the house - too cold for me, but the bike was calling her name. I remember that sense of freedom - getting on that bike and riding into the distance :) Another cyclist is born!!
