No trainer either...tried my son's, not a fan...noise too high and don't want the hassle of changing tires to slicks to dampen the noise.

I'll probably stick with my fitness center's spin bikes for the foreseeable future. They don't have TVs with DVD capabilities. I suppose I could put video on my iPhone, however the screen is too small to be of consequence for longer videos.

But it is good to hear confirmation that such a resource is out there...one never knows...! :-)

If I ever had a spin bike at home I'd be up for something like that...I imagine it gives you a nice sense of movement which would be a big help.

Don,

The Computrainer has that. You can do real courses. I use it sometimes and also make up my own courses. You can also download a course from a GPS. There is another one call the Trak or Trac system that is similar.

At times if the weather is not too cold I put the rollers or trainer in the garage and open the door. I ride while watching the snow melt.

I've heard good things about some DVD's which are made to simulate outdoor riding when one is on the trainer...don't know anything about 'em as haven't used a trainer except to try out my son's.

Perhaps others have more specific recommendations. My yucky weather option has always been Spinning class.

Hi all,
Well the rain has finally come to the Oregon Coast - it's been the driest fall and winter on record here. While that's been tough on the farmers and fishermen, it's been heaven on wheels for us cycle-holics. But now it's raining and it's time to pull out the trainer - the BORING trainer.
I found a couple apps to keep me entertained and motivated for my android phone: Indoor Cycling Coach by twelveguage software, and Turbo Tour. I've downloaded them but haven't tried 'em yet. Does anyone use either of these, or something else? Anything good - or bad - I should look out for?
Thnx.
