Have you had a look at a Giant Avail ( Women's version of the Defy)? If not do try to test one out as I test road every bike I could get my hands on but eventually settled on Th Avail. I've had mine 2 months and love it . It's an endurance /sportive bike as are the Domane/ Lexa/ Dolce/ Ruby. For some reason the geometry and ride just fitted me like a glove so I'm now clocking up between 50 -80 miles / week and training for my first 100 mile sportive.
NB; In the UK The top end Lexa is the Domane frame where as the lower spec models aren't they are still the 'old' style frames .
Hope this helps ,
sandy

DH has a Madone for his road bike, I'm going for endurance so definitely want comfort, the shop is getting a couple of different bikes in my size to try out. Leaning towards the damone, but will look at the specialized.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Your encouragement is greatly appreciated!
