The company that I work for actually has a fair number of people who bike to work. The company will even reimburse us for some of our bike-related expenses ($20/month if we ride to work 15 times) if we show receipts. As yet I haven't started riding to work but that will hopefully change soon. I've wanted a bike forever and just today bought a used Specialized hybrid bike that my cyclists friend assures me is a great buy and is in good working order. I live almost six miles from work so once I get used to riding again and figure out a safe route, I intend to give it a go. Luckily, we also have showers at work so I won't be offending my co-workers with my post-ride sweaty self. :)

When I read that, I shared it on my Facebook page. I think most of us who commute by bike just love riding and we're happy to be able to spend more time in the saddle. But it's nice to have yet another tidbit to add to my elevator speech. (People who work in the same building are amazed I ride to work, but I tell them if they try it once, they'll be surprised how easy it is, and even if they only ride one day a week, that's a 20% reduction in commute costs. I don't know how effective my conversion efforts have been, but I seen a mountain bike locked up downstairs every now & then.)
Love God. Love your neighbor. Change the world. It really is that simple.
