You absolutely can do it!!! If you need inspiration, pick up the book "Miles from Nowhere" by Barbara Savage. It's an inspiring tale of her bike trip around the world with her husband. She did no training except one or two rides prior to heading off into the unknown. It was rough starting out, but it didn't take her long to adapt. I was amazed by her tenacity.
Hope you'll keep us updated on your training and the trip. I'm planning a 2015 trip across the U.S.

My husband has been a competitive cyclist for years; road, mountain & XC. I on the other hand ride a navigator (with a basket). Since joining Spark 6 weeks ago I am transforming myself physically & mentally. A group from his club are planning a transcontinental ride for Aug 2014, so that would give me 17 months to prepare & train. do you think someone could go from zero to 3400 miles in this time. the ride would be 28 days. My trainer thinks I can do it, what do you think?
