Yeppers, we have some terrific bike club members in their upper 70's. I was talking with one about the FANY ride (Five Hundred Miles Across New York) saying how I'd like to do it, but wondered about the hassle of getting to the starting point (Niagara Falls) and back home from the end point (Saratoga Springs). I'm in the Southern Tier center point area of the state around Binghamton.
His solution? Dead serious, but in his low-key way he said I oughta get on my bike and RIDE to the beginning point and back home from the end point! Just WOW! :-)

Don - just another reason why I love cycling! I plan on pedaling for as long as I can. There is an 83 year old who does Pelotonia every year - all 180 miles! I was behind him on a rather challenging hill a few years ago and he was a rock star! I could have passed him but decided to follow him and be awed by him instead!
Livestrong! Ride hard! ~Kathleen I will be riding 180 miles in August to fight cancer. Help support my ride!
