Glad you're feeling better, but be careful out there. No need to push too hard too soon.

"Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come" (1Timothy4:7-8)

"Jesus answered, 'The most important [commandment] is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength'" (Mark 12:29-30).

I t sucks to have the bike malfunction on a long ride. When it is hot, you have to stay hydrated. I use a Camel Back with a 64 oz liquid capacity. I put Gatorade in my water bottle.

I am glad you made it OK.

To get better at biking in the heat you have to bike in the heat. It's not easy, but once you've conquered it, you'll be able to handle that August ride with ease.

Thank you Bev! I am feeling much better today and I think that I am going to go out a do a few laps around the metroparks this evening.

It comes down to a simple question: What do you want out of life, and What are you willing to do to get it?

Glad you are ok. Be very careful in the heat. DH had to pour water on me and park me in the shade one day. Even drinking lots of water, I don't handle heat well at all.

New bikes often take some time to fine tune. Fortunately my DH is really good at working on them.

It was a rough ride today.....I went out for a 30 mile ride with my husband. Mid-way through, I jumped the chain off the spocket and had to do a roadside fix. On the way back to the house, I stopped sweating and started to have symptoms of heat stoke. It was a 3 hour ride total, with a few stops to recharge and get water. I am trying to prepare for a 100km ride in August, and this is going to be harder than I thought.

I do have to thank my awesome husband for getting me though this morning and for fixing my bike. Tomorrow it is off to the bike shop for a tune-up (just got it too) because 2 gears are not working correctly, one it will not go into completely and the other gear, the bike will not go into and jumps up 2 gears instead.

It comes down to a simple question: What do you want out of life, and What are you willing to do to get it?
