Snakes may taste like chicken, but they certainly don't smell like chicken. Couldn't get past the smell to even cook it.

We were on the tandem and leaving on a small group ride when a squirrel tried to run across the road. He made the bad decision to stop in the road and we had no where to go, so ran over him. I was sad to run over him, but glad we didn't have Sweet 16s so he couldn't run through the wheel. That would have been ugly.

Yikes, DDORN! And, I forgot about the squirrel last week that almost caused me to wreck. I almost had to hit him, but that would have probably made me fall. Anyway, he barely got out of my way!

Speaking of nature freaking one out...had a doe & fawn grazing quietly alongside the road as I was whizzing down a hill last year and they flipped out and literally lept OVER ME! My cycling buddy was glad I was in the lead as she would have freaked! :-)

Oh! Thanks for mentioning nature, DDORN. We saw a rabbit and a snake on the side of the road. Last week, during our 12 miler, we passed a medium sized tortoise crossing the road...and a snake lying out catching some sun! That kind of freaked my friend out, but I LOVED it! emoticon

Good for you! I have found spinning helps me keep my "seat" over the winter. And riding with someone always helps me ride farther.

I rode 34 miles today! Amazing!!! My longest ride before was only 20 miles - and that was over a year ago! In fact, I've only been on my bike once in the past several months - and that was last week for 12 miles. But, I have done 4-5 spinning classes in the past 8 weeks or so. And, I've been running.

Anyway, a friend invited me to go riding on a hike & bike trail and it was GORGEOUS!!! I'm so excited and can't wait for our long ride next week - I hope to do at least 40!
