Feb & March - were not the best months for my physical self. I am adjusting to working from a home office and then going to PT 2 x's a week. I was super happy to get down grade to 1 time per week. I overextended in a lunge while doing a cardio workout and my L5 became hyper-mobile and I have been doing a ton of work on stabilizing my core.
April's Goals: Log at least 150 miles total. Get cleared 100% from my PT. Lose 5 pounds - I put on 3 with the past 2 months. cont. adjusting to working from my home office.
Well, I have gone and done it. I have registered for my first Century ride this year. The ride is the Powhatan Historical Bike tour, which has 31, 62, and 100 mile routes. I have to admit that I am a little nervous. I rode my first century last year on the first day of the MS 150. I didn't decide to do the century until I was at the 60 mile rest stop. I now have the next 20 days to think about it. I have completed 3 half centuries so far this year and will probably do another one before the century. There are liberal rest stops throughout the ride with the longest stretch without one being 16 miles. A pre ride breakfast is included and a meal at the completion of the ride as well. Let's Ride!!
I am pleased with my progress in March. I dropped 10 pounds and have stayed on target for my long term weight loss goal of 250 by the MS 150 on the first weekend in June. My riding has stayed consistent, 512 in Jan, 537 inn Feb, and 525 in March. That keeps me on target for 6000 miles for the year. For the month of April;
1) Ride at least 500 miles
2) Ride and complete my first century of the year on the 22nd of April
I did fair for the month. I biked a couple of times to work (then it got bitter cold in the a.m. again), but my schedule is a little off with work, personal and biking. GAH. I was short about 20 miles so for April:
1) Bike 200 miles
2) Follow the almighty food plan I have (not from spark)
3) Drink water. Hydrate until I have a tidal wave in my tummy.
4) Commute to work at least once per week.
5) Hot yoga once for the month. If I like it, go for more.
The month of March was super good to me. I dropped 11 pounds and biked over 1,000 miles. For April, I'm going to pick an organized ride and do it. Additionally, I'm going to do a bit more strength training. Currently, I strength train 6X weekly. However, the intensity is not there. So, for April I hope to pick up the intensity 3x weekly and take it easy the other 3 days. As far as biking, I hope to bike at least 750 miles. Weight wise, my goal will be to reach 170 pounds. Haven't been there since I retired from the US Army in "92. HOOAAA!!
I think I'll do the same as you, Beverly, only will clean rooms on ground level. I know that's a lot downstairs for you, so I admire your optimism. The biking will be easier as the weather is warmer. I'm done for today: 34 miles on the Ladiga Trail. I'm back sparking again, because there is nothing like it to help lose again. Have a Blessed evening.

Here it is already, April. Can you believe it? I didn't do well at all on my March goals. Had to work just about every day and didn't manage all my strength training in. Did get my cardio, so that is a small accomplishment.
For April I resolve to ride my bike 4 days a week and get 500 miles for the month. I will also deep clean and declutter the 2 downstairs bedrooms. It is spring after all.
Anyone else got spring plans?
