DON'T WAIT TO GO CROSS-COUNTRY -- GO OVERNIGHT
Spring has sprung! If you're looking for a little vernal inspiration, consider spending some time clicking around Adventure Cycling's BikeOvernights.org website. An ever-growing number of one- and two-overnight (occasionally longer) adventures are appearing at thesite, contributed by rider-writer-photographers from throughout the continental U.S. and beyond.
Media Specialist Mac McCoy, who is gathering and editing submissions, says he'd like the site to eventually feature write-ups from all 50 states, "and a bunch of foreign countries. So far, we have rides from about half of the states and Canadian provinces, with Texas, Washington, and California claiming the most of any states." We're adding supplemental content to the site on a regular basis, as well, under the categories of How-to, Recipes & Food, Gear Reviews, and Travel Tips.
There's also a Rail-Trails category, with around a dozen entries so far. A couple of the more popular rides posted recently at the site include "Whoopie Pies for Breakfast in Pennsylvania Dutch Country" and "The Highest Paved Road."
