Have lots of fun in Santa Rosa this year! That's great that you're getting your kids involved with cycling early.

I have done several tours with Vermont Bicycle Tours. 2 tours in Vermont, 1 tour in France, and in March I'll be touring in Spain.
Our weather here is not that good for riding in March since we usually get lots of snow then, so I'm really looking forward to Spain.

CAROLYN1ALASKA - That is a bummer. I've actually already done the medio route and will most likely do the Gran route just not on that day. Eventually we'll all be able to do it together, but for now I will stay back with my daughter and be there to cheer for my boys. They will be 9 and 7 at the time of the race and I'm so proud of them for being able to ride 35 miles!

You've got to try to come back to Santa Rosa! It one of the most amazing fitness events I have done.

What other rides did you do with the Wine Country Bike Tour?

I signed up for it a couple of years ago, when I was already in Santa Rosa for a wine country bike tour. I ended up only being able to watch the start, after I was so unlucky and came down with Swine Flu! emoticon
If you're going to be there anyway, why don't you ride it, SAMANTHA_SP? It's a wonderful route... I have ridden part of it and it's beautiful!

with my sister and her family. It is the reason I bought my trike.

Here's the link to the Levis Gran Fondo:

/www.levisgranfondo.com/ ...would be so cool to get out to CA for some cycling!

As I've shared here:

Nothing nailed down yet for me, but kicking around a few possibilities:

Five Hundred Miles Across New York: www.fanyride.com/

Bike Ride Across Georgia: www.brag.org/

Probably return to the New York City Century: nyccentury.org/

DEFINITELY return for my 3rd or 4th Great Finger Lakes Bike Tour: www.southerntierbicycleclub.org/fing
er
lakestour.html

And possibly return to my hometown area for the Apple Cider Century: www.applecidercentury.com/

No way will I do ALL of these...hoping to nail either the FANY or BRAG, but not both...the wallet doth protest too much! :-)

Hoping my Spinning classes, stationary bike & elliptical workouts, occasional walk / jogs along with upper body strength training will find me ready to roll when the weather cooperates!

NOW one of my cycling buddies just inspired with another AWESOME sounding ride:

Pittsburgh to Washington DC via the C&O Canal towpath and the Great Allegheny Passage!

The biggest conundrum for undertaking such an adventure is always: How to get from home to the starting point and from the finishing point back home. Fortunately my biking buddy may have a contact who is willing to be our wheels! Crossing my fingers...been SO ITCHING for that multi-day bike touring trip!

Now with SO many possibilities out there, how in the WORLD does a person make up his mind?!?!

Any one signed up to do Levi's Gran Fondo in September 2012? It's a great century ride. I will be at the finish line cheering for my boys, husband, and dad as they cross the finish line.

What rides are on your radar for 2012?
