For October a new world is coming my way. I hired a coach to help me become a better cyclist. I hope to listen to his words and ride smarter, putting in less miles at a higher level of intensity.

Thank you my friend. I will call if I need anything. Chris was back on his bike in 3 days. Of course, he is much younger than I am. You are right about staying off the roads that weekend. I will have to drive to work on Monday, not a fun trip after the race.

One Day at a Time:
1) walk/ride 30 minutes
2) organize something in my home
3) fruit or veggie with each meal
4) sew 1 bobbin full
5) make someone smile

You can always watch the race the weekend of your surgery! It's best to be off the roads, then anyways. I would be happy to do what I can to help in the recovery, walk, bike, etc. And I'm supporting the challenge and implementing it myself: food watch! We can encourage one another to better calorie counts!

September was a challenge. I now have a torn meniscus in my left knee and it has been a bit of a problem from time to time. Doctor said it is already torn, so if it doesn't hurt, go for it. I didn't get to ride as much as I wanted, but did manage 3 days most weeks. So I think I will be ready for the trails next week. Surgery is scheduled for Oct 21st and he says I should be back riding within a week.

For October I will be getting ready for "the eating season" and really watching my nutrition. I will also make a greater effort to get some walks in every day, since my extended bike rides will be out for a while.
