I saw this article yesterday, too. I've been really curious about the bamboo bicycles, but they're crazy costy, and I"m not sure that i'm totally sold yet on riding a bike made of grass.
Regarding Dutch bikes, I've never heard them called that, but both my parents are from the Netherlands, and that certainly looks like the bikes you see all over the city. Glad to hear we're famous for something other than cows and windmills - not that I have anything against either of those :o)
On the same note, Bicyling magazine had a blurb about responsible disposal of bike tire tubes - recycling rubber and what companies are doing with it. :o)
