Took the L.A. River bed bike path??? I would take the planr just for the sake of safety. I grew up in that area and there is no way on God's green earth I would ride that stretch. You go straight through some of the worst areas in country for gang and drug violence. Years back when you would ride through the El Monte section gangs members would break glass on the path so you would have to stop, then they would rob you and in one case they killed somebody.

Just having to arrive an hour early would be enough to beat the plane. I think I would opt for public transportation. Wouldn't like to ride in that traffic.

1) 10,000 steps daily
2) fruit & vegie at every meal and log
3) aerobic or strength train every day

And the victor in the great LA bike-vs.-plane race is ...

In a victory for bicycle commuters, a group of cyclists takes on an
airliner and beats it by a mile ... or two:

Can Los Angeles cyclists beat a plane from Burbank to Long Beach? How an
idle tweet spawned an epic transportation showdown.
