I think that riding road bikes is wonderful. Congratulations on finishing.
(Wish we had the Livestrong Ride in our area...)

Some day I would love to participate in Live Strong. Good luck with that.

Awesome - have fun with that! I rode for two years on my mountain bike with clipless pedals & slicks. Then when I decided to do triathlons, I bought a road bike. I was in love (since I love to ride fast) after the first ride!
Get under 6 hours for a half Ironman triathlon
Get under 8 min/mi for a 5K - DONE 4/3
2010 Big Races:
Jan 15-17 Bermuda Half Challenge (8:15 Mile, 1:01:20 10K, and 2:11:32 half marathon)
June 6 Mooseman 70.3 triathlon (6:30:25)
Aug 22 Timberman 70.3 triathlon (6:10:14)
The past 2 years I have participated in the LiveSTRONG Challenge 45 mile ride using my modified mountain bike (clips & shoes and road tires). I have finished both times but decided this year I would rent a road bike and see how it goes. I rented a bike yesterday to go for a practice ride and I loved it so much that I almost cried when I had to return the bike to the bike shop afterwards. I am planning on doing another practice ride in a couple weeks before the big event. I can't wait until the LiveSTRONG Challenge this year to see how well I do!

You have a choice. You can throw in the towel, or you can use it to wipe the sweat off of your face.
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.
