You need to go to another forum called roadbike review www.roadbikereview.com I am sure you will get the answer you are looking for. That forum has the hard core people on it who are into real wrenching on road or MTB.

I have a late '90s Cannondale Killer V700 with the Fatty Head Shok. Recently I found an oily leak under the soft cover over the shock. My LBS said that it was a leaky seal and could not be fixed.
I contacted the Cannondale people, and was told it was an obsolete head shok and could not be fixed or replaced.
Has anyone else had this problem, and did you find a solution. This is an excellent bike in very nice condition except the leak.
Also I am new at riding off road, so I don't know how this effects my ride. Any input will be appreciated.
