My favorite jersey was one my ex girlfriend got for me. It was an Old Guys Who Get Fat In The Winter Racing Team jersey. She got me a 2X, but I probably needed a 3x. The result was there was always a gap between the bottom of the jersey and the top of my shorts. Usually, that cheeses me off. Given the jersey, it seemed perfect. Unfortunately, in 2008 I had about 8 jerseys stolen from my apartment's laundry room. Now my favorite is from the 2009 Sunflower Revolution. A team mate bought for me as a present. It is also the only jersey I own that fits.

I'm still having to wear wool jerseys by icebreaker or smart wool... it's been so cold here it's really depressing. (40 degrees today with 25mph winds... ugh!)

I got my favorite top at REI. It's sleeveless and is cool. The best part is that I don't have to have sunscreen on my back.
I checked Twin Six's web site and under sizing, they had a pretty good break down. But the comment that interested me was under their Wool Jerseys.

Anyone have any experience with Twin Six jerseys? I was just random browsing on REI and I love Twin Six's Betty design.

No, not all shirts have elastic. And some have tighter elastic than others. Look at the specs if ordering on line. But personally, I prefer to try something on for size, because all the brands/styles fit me differently.

I would like to know if all jerseys are elastic at the back as I find they tend to ride up over my stomach. And I only have a little stomach. Or do I need to find a longer one?

Actually, cycling clothes are designed slightly more fitted than street clothes to prevent wind resistance. It's not that they haven't caught up with the clothing bandwagon.
Something to look for if you are buying on line: Is the jersey "race fit" or "club fit"? A 2x "race fit" will probably still be snug. If you like things slightly baggy, go with a "club fit". Also look to see if the shirts are mens or womens sizing--a mens 2x will be larger than a womens 2x.

Thanks! :) I've worn over size shirts since I was a kid, just because I think it's comfy. I'll see if I can get something in 2x. That's the t-shirt size I buy now for bagginess. That is, when I can afford it. :)

Personally, I find that with cycling jerseys they tend to run a little small compared to regular clothes - guess the cycling clothing makers haven't jumped on the clothes size bandwagon :) So I tend to order a little larger and if it's too big I return it (always check return policies online). Plus, if it's just a little too big then I'm usually happy. I don't like the jerseys to be too tight.
Most online places do have sizing charts so check those out.

I'm so glad someone posted about this! I was toying with the idea of getting one. I'm just worried about sizing, as I've bought one before. I am about a 1x-2x and I don't know if buying online is a good thing right now....mayhaps I need to find a store and try a few on to get a better idea.
Any suggestions on where to try? My local bike shop really doesn't deal with clothes....

My favorite jersey is from a charity ride where 200+ cyclists rode together. I only did one day (70 miles) but the entire ride is 350 miles in 4 days. The jersey is too big, but I love it.

Still working on increasing my jersey collection... right now I don't have a "favorite" other than my newest Huntington Bank/Pelotonia jersey but it's a medium and I prefer large so that's why I'm not that partial to it.
But thanks for the links! I've ordered 1 jersey from REI that was marked down and I'm getting 2 tank jerseys from Primal! LOL

Does anyone else out there have the problem with your jersey bunching up around your middle? I have a little bit of belly and my jerseys both have elastic backs and slide up on my cycling shorts. I have ended up wearing running shirts, which are very comfy and serve the purpose, but I am a gear nut and love to look like a "real" cyclist.

Yes, KJNE8O check on Nashbar.com. They have some reasonably price jerseys, plus they have sales weekly.
My favorite jersey is a GREEN GLO jersey that I wear for high visibility. Since I started wearing it last year, I have much fewer "close calls" with cars turning in front of me.

I have a grey, white and black one I got in France for my son a few years ago. It fits me now, albeit loosely. It has Cycling Sordello Cannes on it. I was asked the other day if I have been there, and the answer is yes.

Question - I am looking for sleeveless jerseys, perhaps even in a tank style. Does anyone know where I can get some at a reasonable price?? Like less than $30?
I found one at REI... any other places to look?

My favorite cycling jersey is a Sheebeest. I've had it for so long, I forgot where I got it, but I think it was REI. It's mainly blue with flowers - lots of colors. The reason I like it, besides the fact that it's Coolmax and very comfortable, is that it attracts butterflies.
