New bikes are fun. You'll love your road bike. I've had my Terry classic since 1993. I guess once you find a bike you love you stick with it. Thousands of miles later that old bike is still going strong.
A new ride is so exciting. I got a Trek hybrid on Friday after not riding for many years. I tried road bikes out too, but the roads I want to ride on are mostly chipsealed, rough and hilly. The bike I got is a bit heavier, but also sticks to our crappy roads even flying at 45km/hr on a 45 degree turn. Love it.
Persevere. Even if you fall on your face, you have moved forward.
I have been riding a Specialized Vienna Hybrid bike for the past year . I got hooked on spinning which got me started on road cycling.
I went riding a with a few friends a few weeks ago and noticed that I had a real hard time keeping up with them.Yes they had road bikes !
I go by a LBS everyday after work and figured I would stop in and ask some questions last week. these guys are real good and know their stuff.
I would not go back to the original LBS I bought my hybrid from because they seemed to not care anymore once the bike left the shop.
So today i took 4 bikes out for a test ride. I started at the low end and they told me I should also try the "better" bikes also while I was there.
I ended up getting the Trek 2.1 after much discussion and rides. Trek right now has a line of credit with no interest for 1 year. He brought the bike down to 1160.00 and I figured 100.00 a month for a year would be worth it.
He had to order the bike for me as he didn't have my size in stock, I should get it by the weekend I hope..
I guess I'll put the hybrid on Craigs list as soon as mine comes in..
This 2.1 rides so smooth and it is so light. I can't wait to take it out for some serious mileage
