I'm rooting for the Phillies only for the sole reason that the Yankees think they can buy a championship every year. When they stop the never ending spending is when I will change my feelings on this.

From what I glean from my friends' Facebook statuses, many are looking at it as justice. Pedro paying them back for bailing on the Sox.

I have to admit that I'm rooting for the Yankees this time around.... Although the Lee-Sabathia "duel" really wasn't last night - Lee was fricking awesome. And Mariano Rivera ain't the closer he once was, so Phillies look set to repeat.

Pedro tonight, wonder how that's doing to go down in Red Sox nation...

Duathlons rule all. Oh, me, biased? And hey, you're a decent runner! Remember, us multisport types have to content with cycling and that swimming thing too.

Oh, and good luck with being a Yankee fan in Boston...

Good job. I'm not a runner (unless chased by a large predator), so I'm really impressed with anyone who does that.

BRTRAINS - I grew up in NY, have been a Yankee fan my whole life. I've lived in Boston one year. Basically, I keep my head down and my mouth shut :)

That's really good. I can't seem to get past 16 mph in a sprint tri - and that's on a completely flat course. I plan to spend the winter working on that with spin classes and getting out more.

Congratulations on 3rd place!

I have shied away from duathlons in the past because I am not a fast runner. In triathlons, I stand a chance because I'm good in the other two disciplines, and then I just try to hang on during the run :)

I especially wasn't going to do the race last weekend because it was the week after my marathon. But my friend talked me into doing a relay with him because he didn't want to bike.

I should have warmed up better, because my legs were dead at the start of the race, and still were when I hit the biggest hill at mile 2.5. I started to feel stronger, but still got dropped pretty bad on the hills. Nevertheless, I ended up at ~19 mph, and as a team we placed 3rd!

Not bad for a week removed from a marathon, and not having ridden my bike since August :)
