I'm probably too heavy and slow for a really light and fast bike - LOL - but I am happy to hear good words about my old friend Fuji. I have found a bike shop (relatively local) that sells 'em, so that's where I'll head first when I find the pot o' gold required to buy a new bike. Hmm.. Do they ever accept a slightly used bike as partial down payment for a new one?
Around here (Reno), Fujis are very common. Never rode one myself. I think it just comes down to what YOU like. Take some for a spin, see whatcha think. For me, I won't ride anything other than Ridley when it comes to road bikes.

It's good to hear some good news about Fuji! I did notice that one of the Roubaix (I think that's right, don't have it in front of me) models got "Roadbike of the Year" from a cycling magazine or something. Anybody else ?
I ride Fuji bikes. I love mine. I have a 2007 Limited Edition (top o' the line) Roubaix as my roadbike and until recently I rode an 07 Cross Comp as my cyclocross bike. They are both alu/carbon blends, I'm not a big fan of full carbon. Both fit me perfectly. The only problem I had with the cyclocross bike was that it was kinda heavy and the steering wasn't as twitchy as I like it.
Both bikes are tough. I laid down the cross bike at least a dozen times (mostly on dirt) and nothing untoward happened to the frame, until I got hit by a car a couple of months ago. I've been in one crash on my roadbike and it was totally fine.
Fuji's have always been a lot more bang for your buck as opposed to other manufacturers. For both my roadbike ($2000 CDN) and CX bike ($1000 CDN), the component spec was one notch above other manufacturers in the same price range. Personally I think the 09 line has some bizarre component choices but all in all, you can't go wrong with a Fuji.

I just wanted to try once more-- Does anybody out there ride a Fuji? If so, which one, and how do you like it? I had a Fuji S12-S about a hundred years ago -- Saw some Fuji road bikes on their website and at Sport Chalet, and started wondering.... When I do get a road bike (now riding a Giant Cypress DX ), maybe I would like another Fuji ?
