Oh, it's good news. Now you get to compete in your specialist event, with none of that other stuff like running or swimming to get in the way! A road race is always fun though.

Hope you get a refund and figure out why it's been cancelled. It sucks though - my favourite running race (Canada Day 10k) was cancelled and now I'm stuck with just training on Canada Day rather than racing.

I'm voting for good news too. You know you can do a tri--now see what you can do with this race!

Can't wait to hear...

BTW, any word on why the tri was cancelled?

Well I got an e-mail from the organizers for the God Bless America Triathlon to be held on July 4th .... it has been CANCELLED. At first I thought my DW was playing a joke on me? I went to the web site and sure enough it is cancelled.

This event has benn taking place for several years. We are both wondering what would cause this event to be cancelled?

I will be asking for a full refund. I'm not a good swimmer ... I one of those frail at swimming and I think I'm the only one that can actually sweat in water!!!! Is that even possible???? LOL When I run I can not do more than 2 miles without the knee getting sore.

Now the good news .... this now leaves me to be able to do the Omro Race Classic bike race the next day on Juky 5th. Now I do not have an excuse to do poorly. This race is a 2 lap 22 mile loop race.

This will be my first bike race ..... my goal is to finish, not crash, don't cause a crash!!! I'm hoping to place in the top half of my age bracket with goals of podium within the next 2 years of my age bracket. I do not think I'll ever win it over alll. This is a sanctioned race and yes there will be pro's and top cat racers as well.

I'll keep you posted.
