My inner hardcore says I blew it since I didn't ride in today or yesterday, but more reasonable minds suggest that I could probably pull it out if I get a morning ride in before the end of the day Saturday.
We're halfway into June and I'm right on schedule. I've logged in 51 miles. I'm starting vacation for two weeks with biking in mind. I'm planning to get in 10-15 miles today. Tomorrow I head to Columbia to try out those trails recommended by HEYPUTTHATDOWN. I should be able to far exceed my goal.
Yesterday was my first opportunity to ride in the dirt. My family and I tried out a new greenway trail for us. We had around 3 miles of tree roots, bumps and grinds I've never experienced before. All in all it was much smoother than I imagine a typical dirt trail to be. I was surprised at the drag on the bike. I think my seat is a little sorer than usual. My hybrid tires held pretty good but I wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis.

My resolution for this next month is to seriously figure out my REAL nutrition requirements and follow them! My exercise minutes for last month were close to 3,000 and I did not change my eating habits. Needless to say, I haven't lost an ounce! Time to eat more if necessary and not go ballistic if I have to do so!
Hey BevPresley!! Luv the idea of monthly resolutions. I am going to selfishly focus on me and my health this month.LOL The reason that I found this site and developed an interest in cycling is because I was neglecting my health in an effort to meet demands of raising children, running a household and work. My resolution is to increase the number of days I ride my bike weekly..goal 3 days. I am only averaging about 23 miles each week. I want to at least do 60miles/weekly. Oh and thanks for the tips on riding hills!!

It is that time again, lets plan our June resolutions. I have taken stock of my first five and am doing well at keeping them so far. My June resolution is not going to be about me I am resolving to do something to help someone daily. It may not be anything large, perhaps just help problem solve, or some encouragement.
Remember, it takes 3 weeks to form a good habit. These resolutions are only for one month, after that they should be habits and easier to maintain.
One Day at a Time: 1) walk/ride 30 minutes 2) organize something in my home 3) fruit or veggie with each meal 4) sew 1 bobbin full 5) do a good deed
February goals: 1) Organize/improve something in my home daily 2) Eat a fresh vegetable daily 3) Learn something new
