Great job OOC!

I'm off for a ride myself, but nowhere near 60. Will have to do for now.

The ride was great! We had perfect weather and the scenery was beautiful. Nice rest stops every 15 miles. I finished feeling great, and I'm not feeling too bad this morning. My lower back is sore, but that's about it. I had such a fun time.

I started cycling 3 months ago and absolutely fell in love with it!!! It's a good thing I didn't find cycling first because I might never have put in running shoes!!! LOL!!!

You too Jackie!

I'm hoping that I will be able to run again someday, and then I can start doing triathlons! I guess that's one good thing about being injured, it forced me back into the pool and onto the bike.

Best of luck Michelle!!!

I'm riding my first cycling event, the LA Bike Tour on Monday...although it's not as long as yours (only 22 miles), I'm still pretty excited!!!

Have a great time!!!

Jackie!!!

I was always on my bike too, I just preferred the condensed workout with running because I never had much time. I could go out, run, and be done with it. Yes, laziness in a way I suppose.

But now I am totally hooked on my bikes!!! If I can run again one day that'd be great, but I will always be on my bikes.

Sounds like a blast. I've known so many "former" runners who had an injury and switched to cycling. One that comes to mind is a girl who was on a team I used to be on. She was "new" to cycling. That was 10 years ago, and she is still a professional cyclist as her main occupation. Running is so tough on the feet and legs...

Have fun!

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the ride. I have found that the mileage 'flies by' when you are riding with a group. Finishing the last ten miles of metric century with someone else sure beats digging deep on your own to find the reserves needed to reach your goal.

2009 Cycling Goal: 2,750 miles (3,500 miles 8/15)
Year to 10/2: 3,255 miles
Previous Goals/Miles:
2008 2,500 mi/2,419.1 logged (80.9 miles short)
2007 (1/2 Year): 1,000 mi/ 1,002 logged!!

Carla, I used to run too, but had to quit a year ago due to an IT Band injury. I was thrilled to find that riding doesn't bother it, so cycling is my new thing!

Well for being new to cycling, or even not so new, that's really great!!! I do a lot more cycling now that I have had problems with my knee. My first choice was always running, but it will be awhile before I can do that again.

Good luck this weekend!!

I am new to riding- just started at the end of March. So far my longest rides are about 37 miles. I'll be doing 60 this Saturday- 30 miles out, lunch stop, then back. I'm very excited! I have a checklist for everything I need. I'll be riding with a group from my gym. I'm sure we won't all actually ride together, but at least a couple of us will.
