We lived there for 3.5 years. DH, who did the riding there (I wasn't riding yet) says this:

"If you like technical mountian biking in mud, then it's great. For road riding, Waimea Canyon and the Southwest side are pretty good. The rest of the island expect lots of traffic, little or no shoulder, and lots of debris on the side of the road. Also look out for chickens!"

I am going to Kauai on vacation in June. Has anyone ever cycled there? Any advice?
