I just saw your post today. My wife and I love our Santana Arriva with couplers that allow us to pack it in a large suitcase for flights. For two riders with a little difference in ability, It is GREAT! (I won't say who is the weaker rider).

Unfortunately we have now moved to Japan and it is against the law to ride a tandem here! So being teachers we have to wait until the summers to ride it.

We bought a B.O.B. trailer and have used it fully loaded on long trips. It is great.

Welcome to the team Erica. DH and I ride a tandem. We have a Santana road bike, Nashbar mountain bike, and he is building a new Tsunami mountain bike. He rides a single road and mountain bike as well and I have a single mountain bike. But I much prefer the tandem. We are registered for the GA and TN tandem rallies this year.

My boyfriend and I were meant to be on a tandem. We love to ride together and love to challenge each other, heck, we even have matching Pinarellos, lol. We finally took the plunge this year and started out with a vintage Santana tandem we found on Craigslist...you know, just to see how we liked it. Well, we loved it. Loved it so much that we only rode it a few times before buying our '09 Cannondale Road 2.

She just showed up last week and we got to take her out for a spin. Shes just GREAT. The only problem is now we've got these beautiful Pinarellos sitting in the garage all jealous that they never get brought out anymore, LOL

Who else here has been bitten by the tandem bug?
