congrats on your new bike, its a great feeling.....now I want one..lol.
Enjoy it and safe cycling. As for the advice slowly but surely. slowly increas your miles and then slowly increase your speed but I'll leave it to more experienced cyclist to set you right. Enjoy your bike.

Went yesterday and bought my first new bike and love it after 10 miles. Bought a Specialized Roubaix Elite Compact. It was a little cold today, but of course I could not stand it, and rode for 10 miles averaged 13 MPH. Which I know is slow for most of you but the first time I have rode in 3 months, and alot better time than my old bike. Just got to keep riding and working on stamina.Any advice would be greatly appreciated

The Picture on the left is my motivation to get in shape and lose weight!!!!!!!
