this year's totals

300,000ft of altitude gain = about 30,000 flat land miles

6,300 miles

Total with climbing miles
36,300 flat miles

but the only miles that matter to me are the 600 miles that I did for the triple crown stage race...I got my winners jersey in the mail a few weeks ago =)

It was a fitting end to the year. A great 40.1 mile ride with beautiful weather (in the 70's with much sun). Ended the year with 13,814 miles.

I rode 13 miles yesterday in a downpour, and it was so much fun! The desert community where I live doesn't have many below ground drains--we have "dips" which are places where the intersections "dip" down and the water rushes through them, sometimes more than a foot deep. The whole valley drains to the west, so the water rushes down the streets. Some of the streets were completely under water, and it was SO MUCH FUN! I had a smile on my face the whole time. I would have been happy to ride for hours if it had been warmer. The snow level was down to about 3000 ft last nigh and we are at 1800 feet so you know it was cold. No rain today, but I didn't ride because all of my gear was still wet. I will need some new gear to really ride consistently in the rain, but I now know that rain is no reason to not ride!

Did the final organized ride of the year. A 62 miler with 26 degree temperature at the start. Chilly!! Went over 13,000 miles for the year and have an outside chance for 14,000. HOOAAA!!

im back, sorry I have been gone for so long...ive been kind of burnt out on riding...alot of it had to do with my crash on my first stage race...i also put on about 25 pounds since last year at this time...but I lost that 25 pounds because of being under extreem stress so i guess im healthy again lol

well, let me figure out my miles and put them up here

DH got a new hard tail mountain bike frame and finished building it up last night. We took it out for a 6 mile shake down this morning. He loves it, I like my suspension, thank you very much.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to ride my bike to the grocery store. 10 mile round trip---if I had actually GONE! I got all dressed in my warm clothes got my bike out and, a flat flat flat tire. The thought of taking the tire out and putting another one in defeated me (never having done it before) so I changed clothes and got in the car. Bummer.

Got a quick 13 miles in after it warmed up. Then came home and got some yard work done. What a great day.

1) 10,000 steps daily
2) fruit & vegie at every meal
3) aerobic or strength train every day
4) 7 hours sleep daily
5) check in with SP daily


June 2014 goals:

Was able to get in 22 miles yesterday. Hope to ride more this week with the warmer temps. Those days are very limited.
