Check to see which bike fits you best.

Assuming they are both great fits, (not likely), then look at the condition and the components. Five year old components vs 1 year old is easy... But if the bikes are in comparable condition, then the bike with the best components wins.
You're going to ride the bike not just look at it, so get the best bike for you. Don't fall into the the Trek is best paradigm unless you check it out and find it to be true. Just because everyone else has a Trek doesn't make it better. If that were true we would all be buying everything at Wal-Mart. Dare to be different!

I'm 6'0 and ride a 56cm Fuji frame. 54cm also would have worked, the 58 was too big.

The 56cm Roubaix frame fits me like a glove. The only thing I did was replace the seatpost with one with no setback (couldn't get the saddle forward enough with the stock post) and changed the stem length. Everything else hasn't changed from stock.

Not sure about the Trek but the Conti Gators are solid tires. I run those as slicks on my cross bike for commuting and am perfectly happy.

EDITED to add:
Forgot, I also swapped out the handlebars because I couldn't clip my aerobars on them. Those bars are now on my cross bike.

All I know so far is he is asking $900.00. It has carbon fork and seat stay. 56 cm. Would a 56 cm fit a 6 foot frame at 205 lbs???

What would your opinion be on a 2000 Trek 5200?

This has a carbon frame, alum. fork? ( i re-emailed to verify this) I'm also trying to find out what rims he has, the tires areContinental Gaterskin. It has a 12/21 cassette and 39/53 crank. He is asking $950.00.

Fuji? OH YES.

I own the 2007 Roubaix LTD edition roadbike and the Cross Comp cyclocross bike. LOVE LOVE LOVE both.

With Fuji you get more bike for your $ than for many other bike manufacturers and the Roubaix is a great bike for your money at all levels. What you save going with a Alu/carbon frame (and you know how I feel about Alu/CF, I love it) you get far better components - mine has full Dura Ace, carbon crank, seatpost and handlebars and Mavic wheels. Granted I knew the LBS boys and got it for cheap but it's still a stonking bike for your money. Of course I swapped out the bars and seatpost for something Alu and stuck them on the cross bike, but that's another story.

Fuji bikes aren't bling like some other bikes and they have standard geometry but the Roubaix is one bike I'm not going to get tired of riding.

From the website the 2008 models are pretty much exactly the same as the 2007 models so if you have any questions, ask. But from someone who is totally biased, GET ONE!

JHOLLNAGEL,

Sorry, no comments on the new Fuji Roubaix othe rthan it looks like a great bike.
Wanted to share that I really admire Fuji bikes. I have a Fuji Team Super Lite. There just isn't anything better. I compared the geometry to the top Trek offerings and found them to be almost identical. The frame weighs 2.4 lbs making it lighter than the competition. Stiff, fast, good looking. Can't beat that.
Great bikes and great prices!
