Well, Cindy (RCKWHITNEY) buys the cakes and coffee as she was first one in!

The "Most Improved" for this month is Jim (JHOLLNAGEL) with a 4:25 improvement from last month, edging out ROSIE2195 by a mere 25 seconds...

Congrats everyone, thanks for riding and see you all next month! It'll soon be time to start bundling up, those of us in the North...

10 miles in 40:44, average speed 14.7

Which is better than it sounds, when you consider that my back went into spasms in the middle of the ride. I didn't even cut the ride short--had to get the time trial!

Besides, I found out yesterday that the local TT I like is back after a 2 year hiatus. And it's in 2 1/2 weeks!

Now you know why I will be working hard on weight lifting with my legs and abs in the off season. Since I know I will not be getting a bike until next season or so the only way for me to get faster is to build up more powerful legs???? LOL

Actually, Jim, you were riding with our group. Weren't you the guy on the Raleigh who ran out of gears? I was talking to him and shifting up. Then he said that he was out of gears and started dropping off. He was strong but ...

This 10 miles was from mile 35 to 45. The entire 60 mile ride was fast. The group broke apart in the last 8 miles and I wasn't at the front. LOL

It was a great weekend to ride!

I should be able to make October and November will be iffy. So what are we doing for us in the winter months who do not have the appropriate bikes and/or gear for temps in the single digits or below 0 degrees? Are we going to be able to cycle machines?

Or wait for those of us until it is riding season again??

Hey guys,

It's that time of the month again! There's a cycling group leaving for a 10 mile ride the first week of September and you're all invited to come and ride. Of course the TT component is back for all the wannabe racers out there....

As with all group rides we'll end with (unfortunately virtual) cakes and drinks afterwards.

So let me know who's in or just post your ride (and time if you want) on this thread next week and I'll collate the results.

I'm in of course.
