I did ride a bit harder with someone else there! I ended up with bone spurs in my big toe and an IT Band injury in 2006. I had the toe fixed in 2006 but The IT issue may have been exacerbated by a distorted gate. A dr. insisted that it was a meniscus tear and fixed the tear in 2007 but the problem was in the ITB. I've had a steroid shot (the second shot this year) that is supposed to wear off soon and I've done PT to strengthen the muscles on the inside of my leg and to teach me how to walk. It is frustrating. Road biking is the best cardio exercise I can do since it is good for hours of sustained activiy. I'm trying to build my endurance back up without ending up in pain and not being able to ride again.

Sara, that is awesome. What kind of an injury did you have? I think that just might "kill" me, if I couldn't ride.
I like organised group rides. They normally make me push myself a little harderm than riding by myself.

Perfect biking weather here, I enjoyed a 21.11 mile ride and still have lots of daytime left for other fun stuff.

I rode 27 miles, which was the longest ride since I started back. Got in a great tour of DC, including riding around the National Mall. It was awesome, just hot (95 + humidity)!

I did my first club ride in 2 years (I've been injured and not riding). I was so excited to be able to do it, to finish it and to actually get to ride with someone else (I thought I would be too slow). I did the 30 mile ride and still felt good enough that I didn't want to sleep all day - I must say though I really haven't done much else today. The best part was that this morning we realized I had put on DH's jersey and it fit (my jersey is a 2X and his is a L). The road felt so good.

Unfortunately no ride for me today due to getting rained(more like poured on) on during my ride last night. The weather people were a couple hours off on when the rain was going to hit. I think I need to get a spare pair of shoes. Hopefully they will be dried out by tomorrow so I can get some miles in.

Happy riding!
Anne

I rode 9 miles and hope to get in another 4-5 when the evening comes and the weather cools.

Great ride today! 48.2 miles! Woohoo! After a week of 105+ degrees, it felt so good to ride in a cooler temperature.

Did anyone else get a ride in today?
