For a big ride (like a metric century, or a traithlon), I always do a big plate of pasta with meat sauce. For a regular workout ride, a balanced meal -- a protein, starch and veggie.

I am a vegetarian. So my favorite post ride meal is a black bean burrito on a whole wheat tortilla. I do have a favorite coffee house that I stop while I am one my ride and have soy yogurt with granola and iced coffee just to help me finish the ride home.

I must be a pig because I enjoy a huge plate of pasta and meat sauce. Otherwise it is a double serving of a soy protein shake.

Tonight after a 25 mile ride the boys and I went to Fazoli's and I had their bottomless bowl of spaghetti pasta meat sauce ahhhh I was in heaven. Depending on my calorie count I may have to have my protein shake yet;-)

I biked 23 miles today with several very steep climbs. When I got home I had a glass of iced coffee with vanilla soymilk and a sardine sandwich with honey mustard, mixed greens, tomatoes on wheat free toasted barley bread. I usually make this same sandwich but with a boca burger. (I am a Pescatarian)
I almost alway ride in the morning as it gets hot and windy in the afternoons.
...and I have a square of dark chocolate for dessert!

We biked 33 miles today. On the way home, I drink Vita-Splash (less than 10 calories). Then I fixed a plate of greens, baby tomatoes, carrots-splash of vinegar (this was left over salad w/ grilled chicken)..not much, then fresh cut-up pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, orange with a 1/2 cup of low-fat cottage cheese. It did the trick. It's evening and I'm still ok!

What I'd really LIKE to eat and what I actually eat are two wayyyyyyy different things!! LOL!!

I try to ride early and by the time I get back home I usually make up an "everything but the kitchen sink" omelet. One whole egg + 3 egg whites, pepperjack cheese, all the veggies I can round up, and a slice of Ezekiel Raisin bread on the side. MMmmmmmmm.

If I'm too tired for cooking, it's a protein shake blended with frozen berries.

Usually, it depends on what I find in the fridge. Today it was turkey sandwich.
My riding partner, and best friend, used to eat 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandwich at Panara's . Now that was my favorite. But now that she moved to Arizona I just search my fridge.

I am curious what everyone likes to eat after a long ride...

protein/veg/and a starch are my standard post biking meals...

I made leftover grilled chicken, spinach, and brown rice today...sometimes I like a slice of veggie pizza, or whole wheat pasta with chicken and veggies
