Woohoo!! emoticon emoticon You did it!!

It sounds like you had a great ride! And GOOD FOR YOU at staying determined to finish while others were dropping out. Your ride is a great motivator for any of us that haven't completed that long of a ride yet!

Happy cycling!

Congratulations ... a job well done. As you I've learned so much from this site that it seems like you can accomplish anything you set out to do. You have demostrated that tremenduously.

I do not think I would be where I'm at in my training and riding if it were not for this site as well. A great wealth of knowledge and info. here.

It inspires us to do things that we would not normally try ... like what one post said: if you don't challenge yourself to do more than how can you know or say you're improving??? I thought that was very inspiring and motivational.

So again congratulations and great job .... now you have another goal for next year improve your time????;-)

Congratulations Lisa! You've inspired me for my first organized ride this Saturday. Unlike you, given the choice between 30 and 50 miles, I opted for the 30 mile route. Baby steps.

Anyway, thanks for posting about your experience!

Lisa,

Fantastic job! Amazing what you can accomplish when you simply decide not to quit.

I'm glad you didn't suffer too much; but just enough to make it worth bragging about.

Now you can really stretch out your long training rides. Next step is a metric (62 miles) and by summer's end you can knock off a century.

Again ... congratulations ... a huge accomplishment.

Bob

Great Job! Way to go. emoticon It is really exhilarating to do a ride like that and you did so well. Another good item to have in hand and I totally forgot about this: Recoverite, after a long ride. We take ours in double zip-lock baggies, to mix w/ water, afterwards. It gets back in, the nutrients lost during the ride. Isn't riding fun?

I did great! The ride was 54.5 miles and it was HOT!!!! I took my time and stopped at all the rest stops so it took me 5 hours with the stops. I ate a huge meal after and went to bed early!

I woke up this morning and my legs feel great! My arms are a little sore/stiff but I didn't stretch them, lesson learned...

People were dropping off the ride left and right, and if I didn't come here for advice I might have been one of those cramped up sick people...so thanks!

I finished, and I have to admit that biking in the heat, with all those hills, and the wind during the last 20 miles, was just about the most difficult thing I have done, I cried when I finished because I never thought that I could do it....I cannot wait to do it again!

I will put some pictures on my spark page tonight.

My girly parts are the only sore thing today!

Wow! Great job! We did the same...start early to avoid the heat. Plus we rode near a river and I love the smell of the water and trees first thing in the morning.

I'm hoping she will let us know how her ride went. Our ride went well, yesterday: 42 miles in 3 hours. It was a pleasant surprise to get done so quickly and enjoy the day. We leave out at 6:30 a.m. due to the heat. Hope everyone had a good ride!

Wyldmoonwoman? I'm dying to know how her 50 mile ride went today. I bet she had a great time and I hope it wasn't too hot out there!

Lisa, if you're back, let us know how it went.
