I've been a member of this group for a while but am just now getting back to it.
I am 5 1/2 years out from surgery. I originally list 104 lb. But have now put back on bat. 25 in the past 18 mo. due to some serious stress and emotional eating. On Nov. 2010 i decided to put on the breaks and start a journey to a better me. To do that I realized that I had to go back to following the rules. For me that means the following:
Making sure that I take my supplements every day ( I even have this as something I track)
Drinking 8 glasses of water a day. For me this means having a 20 oz water bottle with me at all times. I psych myself out with it. If I drink 3 1/2 bottles worth then I've had mybwater fornthe day.
Eating atblease 65 grams of protien a day. I have found that I really like the tast of the Unjury powders. They have an unflavored one that you can mix in with other foods to up your protien intake for the day. Unjury is 20g for one scoop. I also really like the taste ofnthe Pure Protien bars. They are usually 15-20g depending on the bar. Youncan get these a little cheaper at Costco. Also, Arnold bread has a double protien bread that has 7-8g per slice. Greek yogurt (chiobani brand plain yogurt) has 23g for 8 oz.
Eat a little slower and be mindful of what yu put in your mouth. How does it feel?
Get up and move-even for 10 min/day.
I hope this helps. I hope it's not too preachy. I think as long as your are eating well, getting your protien, watching the total number of sugars something has ( I was told I should never eat anything with more than 6 total sugars for anything other than natural? I have a personal goal to not go above 10) then you should do pretty well.
