As I was short of time this morning I didn't eat before church. By the time I got home it was close to 10:30 and I was really hungry. A protein smoothie is the quickest thing I could think of so that's what it was.

It is so nice to now have the option of choosing between Cinnamon Swirl and Chocolate-Peanut Butter.

My hubby made a fantastic breakfast for us this morning. We had English muffin, scrambled eggs, shared a kiwi, a banana, & had 3 super delicious strawberries! Very filling & satisfying. emoticon

Heck, Kathy, all you need to do is stick dinner into your breakfast slot, then eat breakfast as your nighttime meal. You know, lots of people eat breakfast for dinner, so it won't be hard to do. See if it helps you sleep better. Hubby being gone is probably the reason. Isn't that what hubbies are for -- to blame things on?

This morning I tried mixing the two protein powders I have, so a little bit of chocolate and a bit of the cinnamon swirl mixed in with my other ingredients -- it's great, so satisfying! Plus I put my calcium tablets in with my smoothie and that's 2 pills less that I have to swallow. I tried doing it with the vitamin C one time, but it changes the taste of the smoothie.

Eve - your smoothy sounds so good.

I'm having trouble sleeping, too. I wonder if it is the weather changing (I always blame the weather for anything), the full moon approaching along with a moon eclipse, too much happening in my life, hubby out of town... My response is to eat too much later in the day. I just can't seem to stop myself.

However breakfast and lunch are in control. I'm having hot bran cereal with added ground flax and cinnamon and some scrambled egg substitute.

Just could not go to sleep last night. At all. Got up at 2:30, ironed clothes and cleaned until 4:00 back to bed. Still couldn't sleep, so up about 5:30 stayed up a couple of hours, then back to bed, slept until the phone rang and woke me about 9:00. Took a nap this afternoon for 2 or more hours.

While I was up this morning I tried a new protein powder I bought called Cinnamon Swirl, so yummy with almond milk and about 4-5 inches of banana.

I had my usual cholesterol down breakfast with a few added fresh strawberries.

I usually have a soy/fiber protein drink for lunch. It's another part of the cholesterol down program. I usually have an apple with it or as a snack a little later.

I'm allergic to so many foods that my friends have gotten used to eating while I drink a glass of water and visit when we go out. You can train your friends to do the same and still enjoy the social interaction if you want.

From articles that I have read and what my doctor says, you are right to not worry much about your little dab of overweight. It will give you a bit extra if you get really ill and lose weight because of it. My doctor reminds me that I've got more than a dab of fat and need to really work on it.

I'm sure it is a very filling breakfast, Kathy! I find if I don't start my day off with the protein smoothie I have a hard time getting enough protein for the day. And it is so easy and quick to fix, and carries me through the morning without yearning for something.

I look back on my days of going out to eat quite often for breakfast, lunch or dinner and I know it's no wonder I had gained weight. Now I kind of resign myself to putting on a pound if I eat out with a friend -- that's why I don't do it often. And with the way I eat I seem to maintain more than lose, but it's OK. At my age, it's not my ideal weight, but I look presentable in my clothing. There are still little spots of fat here and there, if it comes off great, if it doesn't -- I can live with it.

SCOTTMAMA - the banana/yogurt protein smoothie sounds good.

I had my usual cholesterol down breakfast - 1/4 c old fashioned oats, 1/4 c oat bran, big dash of cinnamon, hot water poured over to "cook". 1/8 c ground flax seed stirred in after it has cooled a bit. 1/2 c egg substitute for additional protein. 1 liter or more of hot black and green tea.

It's a big breakfast, but it gets me off to a great start and when combined with what I'm supposed to do, it helps keep my cholesterol down without meds.

After shoveling snow for an hour and a half I came indoors to make my fave breakfast. I had a mashed hard boiled egg mixed with my homemade avocado-buttermilk-ranch dressing (1 tsp.), with whole wheat toast, a blood orange, fresh pineapple, & my coffee. Still trying to warm up! emoticon

A protein smoothie with extra peanut butter -- I needed something that would stick with me.

And, yummy, it did, I did yard work all afternoon -- about 3-1.2 hours! Needless to say, it will be a 'short walk for Amber tonight.

I discovered I had forgotten to make coffee before going to bed last night, and I like to make my smoothie using half coffee and half fat-free milk. So instead I cut open a grapefruit and after the long process of getting all the little segments cut, I am enjoying the ice cold bites, and I wonder why I don't eat one every day!

Had my regular old protein smoothie this morning, and glad I did when it got to be 3:00 and we were still messing around with stuff on our building site. I was getting hot and hungry, and knew I would really be ravenous by the time we got back home (90 minutes trip) -- and I was, but by that time I was also very, very tired. So I ate a few baby carrots and some grapes and laid down for a nap. It worked out OK.

Hi again. I wasn't on for a while so just saw your message. Yes, the blueberry flaxseed muffins are homemade. The recipe is here on SparkPeople. Here's the link to the recipe. I watched the video first from Chef Meg and I followed her suggestion of rolling the frozen blueberries in flour first so they don't "bleed" into the mixture. I also added some craisins for an extra zing. They are so moist and tasty. Hope you try them sometime.

That sounds yummy, Suz -- are all these delicious muffins homemade? I hear other people talking about some of them and I think, I really should make some, but the first thing I know is that another week has gone by and still no muffins. I think I will make some zucchini bread tomorrow though.

I just had a protein drink for my breakfast. I had such a busy Friday that today was pretty quiet, trying to recuperate!

just got up .....but know in this cold weather Hot chocolate for one thing. Usually oatmeal but thinking of something else like my cinnamon I am planning on making as soon as I get off this computer. this is how I bring in the New Year eating something I been wanting all year. Then 2014 will just tell myself it was good but it not healthy and on I go for my fiber breakfasts.....Good morning......

I was really bad today. A friend made some home made egg rolls and I had several for breakfast, actually brunch. They were small but I still had too many. I can't even enter it in my tracker because I have no idea of the calories, fat, or omg the sodium. Why don't I think of these things before I eat something rather than after I eat it?

i whipped up a whey protien smoothie with a banana and strawberry yogurt. it was yummy and thick and i was happy.

I had a special protein drink I've started using. It's called Elite 7 flavor Chocolate Fudge. Yum! Since using this for one meal or a snack, I don't have to worry about getting enough protein.

I ate much better this morning! Here's the "sandwich" I made for myself:

thin sliced ham
1 slice American cheese
a little less than the equivalent of one egg of SW eggbeaters

put all this on a cheesy bun that my DH buys from the bakery! don't know how many
calories in this, but probably plenty!
