Sunday morning, soon will be off to church. Yesterday was a beautiful day. Today is a little cooler but it is still March.Starting out in the low 40s. At least the wind is not blowing, two more days to see if March goes out like a lamb as the old saying goes.

Good morning all:

I hope you have a peaceful and blessed Palm Sunday.

Leona a gaffe on my part. It is Mary B who is moving. I don't envy the job. However, I've been thinking of downsizing if I could get the right price for my present home.

Elise lot of people for your family dinner. Love the bunny.

Frances I saw the pictures on FB. precious children.

Mattie Sue it was 47 when I woke up. Should warm to 71 which is fine. After church I should be in and acting like a vegetable.

Hugs all,
Lee

Hello all,

Elsie- Bunnies are so cute.

Barbara- Salt on the car reminds me of when I first met my husband in Texas. I asked him why his car had so many holes along the side and he said because of the salt on the roads. Now, as a West Texan, I had never heard of such a thing and did not believe him. I found out he was right.

My daughter now has two dogs and they play together all the time. Love the name Buttercup.

Mattie Sue- Time does fly.

Marlene- We had a dog named Bear and he lived to the age of 14 or so. He adopted us by showing up at my husband's shop and the kids brought him home.
Bear was an Australian Shepherd.
Always nice to have more trees.

Camey- Good luck on your book.
Nice to have two authors here.

Lee- I am not moving, just cleaning. This was our lake cabin when the kids were little and it will stay in the family after I am gone.

Lots of us are cold. It is raining here now.

Dot- I will have to check on the Oxalate.

I got up at 4:20 AM and could not go back to sleep.

Have a nice Sunday.
Take care.
Leona

We had a great dinner (and I probably ate too much). So much fun to watch the cousins enjoying each other's company. They grow so quickly and these relationships will be so important throughout their lives - especially the boys who are only 1 year apart in age.

Wow - a change in weather and a change in plans, but what a day! The soccer field was flooded and they couldn't find another field on such short notice, so the tournament had to be cancelled. I didn't mind since the weather turned so chilly that I wasn't looking forward to standing outdoors anyway.

BUT - the kids wanted to walk around town, so I put on my coat and off we went. After 3 miles in a freezing, gusting wind, my hair came unpinned, my bones were thoroughly chilled and I wondered what I'd been thinking! Still, we had a lovely lunch at the French bakery, stopped by the library and some shops, and got decorations for Kilean's party.

We're getting ready to go out for dinner in a few minutes - I think they want to try a Peruvian place tonight. No.... I am NOT counting calories!

Hope everyone is staying warm. I can't believe what a drop in temperature. The good news is near 60 tomorrow and back to 70s by the end of the week. Maybe THIS time will be the last. LOL.

Lee and Doris both popped back in while I was writing. Lee I am feeling okay today...have a feeling I ate to much Oxalate and my tummy does let me know when I do that. A couple of days ago I wanted a cup of tea so bad. So fixed me a pot and enjoyed three cups...Black tea is high in Oxalate and I have been off of it for months...so I think that is what happened. I am being good now.

Doris stay warm...it is going down below 50* tomorrow here. So will have to wear something warm to church. I will be greeting again and the wind really can blow up an incline to the front doors.

Everyone have a great weekend and stay well.

Mattie it is downright cold here today. I haven not been outside computer tells me it is 63* and it is the middle of he afternoon. Glad you got all your pants taken up. I am so bad about taking pants up that now I only buy petite pants...they are the right length for me. So thankful that the clothing manufacturers finally started Petite clothing we used to have to take everything up. Not having any teenagers around me anymore I haven't paid much attention to what they wear. I only see them at church really and they all seem fairly well dressed - lots of jeans and tops but all covered. I am not to observant.

Leona I gave up my heels some years ago. Do have a couple of pumps with kitten heels, about one inch high. I love the new style gladiator sandal's they came out with this year. I have three pair of them now and get so many compliments on them. Glad your snow and ice is melting and Spring is coming.

Mary Lou, what wonderful sons you have to come and paint for you. It is lovely to have every thing fresh and clean. I know you enjoyed their company too! Wish I could help you with the Boswelia...I have never heard of it. Hope you can find out something and that it would help your painful arthritis.

Marian happy you got good results from the tests. I think gentle exercise could help you but don't overdue it.

Dixie knew you would get caught up with us sooner or later. Enjoyed your post and the critique at your home sounded lovely. Your really do know how to extend your hospitality and to make your guests feel very happy. Looking forward to your getting the books ready to be published. I know you will feel so good when all the hard work is done on them...

Naz so glad you still have the PT four times a weeks. Do hope the new liguid you are using helps your thigh and arm. PT is sure helping me...this week I can go up and down the stairs normally with out to much discomfort. Have two more PT appointments. I have a routine of exercises the therapist gave me to do at home.

Helen, Sorry to hear your hand has not healed yet. We do miss seeing a post from you, but want you healed and well again. Take care and drop in with a word or to when you can.

Betty what a blessing DD's are. Enjoy your beautiful spring cleaned house. and visiting with your girls.

Leona, Easter is right around the corner and a couple of days ago got a call from DS and DIL that they are hosting this year. All the immediate family is invited. That is so nice. I don't have to cook or prepare anything. Hope everyone can come and we will have a fun time.

Barbara, Glad you can drive around in a clean car. NICE...I have to wait until this weather gets settled and then for some extra energy and I will clean mine. It is in the garage so it stays pretty nice...but can now use a clean-up. With the rain and pollen we have it doesn't take long to get really dirty. Love your Pom tales....

Marlene I wondered what had happen to Bear. I imagine you do miss him. I remember that he wouldn't let you get in bed with DH he would growl at you. He sure did love DH.

Camey, no matter what we do we can't win with the utility bills. Yours are with the heating oil bills and mine with the electricity bills. Just got notified they are going up again. No good crying just have to suck it up and pay.

Becky hope you get to feeling better real soon.

Take care everyone,
Hugs and blessings,
Dot

Hi all:

It is cool and windy here but not uncomfortable (sweatshirt weather).

Dot so sorry you are not feeling well again.

Hope adding the cocoanut oil to your poultice helps you NAS.

Sorry you are still in pain Helen.

And sorry also that so many are in pain and that Maureen and Mel still have lousy colds.

I ran errands and found Ben a cute fluffy (stuffed) duck holding an easter egg. Ben will be up here Friday for his Birthday Breakfast celebration and of course it is Good Friday so needed to give him something for Easter. Must tell him this one is not to go swimming. lol I am so looking forward to this as I missed his first. Pictures will be flowing.

Before that we have to do the communion table for Maundy Thursday...Take it down for Easter, (worship ministry will re do it.). I said I would serve communion for both days. Saturday next we put out 62 Easter flowers. A lot to do but I do so love the season.

Leona, I forget when you said your move will take place. How is it coming along and do you have help?

Good news on your heart Marian. Have they checked you for possible asthma for the
shortness of Breath. I get winded in the pollen days and am sure many do. A spirometry test might help diagnose. But then you already had the PFT so here's hoping they can get the reason. Daily breathing with a spirometer does help strengthen the lungs. Another thing to ask your Dr. first. (anything I say on here comes with a caveat.."Ask our Dr.) I do the same with my family.

I guess I'd better finish the cleaning I didn't get to. (not much) then plan to veg a bit.

Betty sorry about your weather. I think tho I would enjoy seeing Cinderella as much as the kid.

Hugs all,
Lee

Awoke to the snow falling, and coming at a good clip. Hope it is no more than l to 3. They said by tomorrow it should be gone. We still have snow here but a lot has gone. Be glad when I can see the flowers again. Oil came in at 3.69 a gallon. Don't know if I shoud go with cap or contract. Cap you pay the going price, up or down, contract you pay the price all winter you signed into even if it goes down. Too early to know if oil will go down next year so hard decision. I am thinking contract but then you have to put money up front for so many gallons. My tank is 275 and they just filled it so now with this snow and the cold again I have to start to use it. Just can't win.

Yesterday, was working on my cancer story. I only have 26 pages and not sure how much Amazon needs as I might go with them on that one, after talking to Dixie.

My Another Lifetime is out to a traditional publisher, but they said I could send it to others at the same time I sent it to them, so that is a help.

Tomorrow they give out the palms and a long Mass. Good Friday and Easter just around the corner. Wish spring was.

Barbara, how I would love to hold the pom, he is so cute. We had a black one but the lady he originally owned him wanted him back when my DH passed. His name was Bear and he is probably 18 now if he is still alive. He was already about blind and could not hear most of the time. I hated to see him die on my watch so I took him back to the original owner. I miss him, my DH loved him so much and they were constant companions.

I thought I was on here yesterday but the wheel said I was starting a new streak. My DD and her DH came and planted some trees for me yesterday. I so want trees, I grew up surrounded by trees. (locust trees) The country school that I attended was just a few yards from my parents home, it was Locust Grove School and only separated from our home by a grove of locust trees.

I have a 50th anniversary to attend this afternoon. Not sure why I was invited as these people are probably at least 10 years younger than me. I am not sure I am going as it is over 40 miles away.

Hopefully later I will be here later today.

Betty how nice to have your home all clean. If mine is clean its all me.

Helen I hope your hand is feeling better.

What is this boswelia? Does it help arthritis?

So far I have tried two different pills. They are making my stomach hurt and feel raw. Today I am just taking Tylenol. Just hope I can move. Its rainy weather and that makes my arthritis worse. Seem with this day and age they should be able to make something that worked and didn't cost a lot.

Finally my DH broke down and we went to the car wash. My car was all salt. If the hose was out I could have washed it myself but the hose is way to heavy for me to carry out. Nice to have a nice clean car.

Buttercup has had no friends over for two days. She does not want to eat and acts lost. I will tell you its nice just to have one dog so much easier. They will all be back Monday.

Enjoy your day. Barbara

We are blessed with lousy weather again..after the lovely 70 degree weather the temps have dipped to the teens and will be rainy and cold today. Betts is doing a spring housecleaning for me for my birthday and she was busy all day yesterday cleaning and organizing...it is so nice,,,but couldn't get to the windows with the lousy weather. I am so blessed and my house is beautiful..We went to the fish fry at church last evening and Betts met up with an old school chum and they had a nice visit while we ate. Mary came over to the house afterwards and we had a good gab fest.

Off to drop stuff off at church this morning for the rummage sale and then we are going to see Cinderella with Mary and her grandkids. So it will be a fun day.

I wanted to make some comments but didn't write them down and now I don't remember what they were...so have a great day everyone and smile!

Hello finally,

I do bet some of you thought I had died. Sorry I did not get back here for days..

After the lecture day and its good reports, I swung into the library book-table event and sold only three. Then the critique held here at my home was coming up and I had so much to do. I shopped, cleaned and did bake the Blitz torte, decorated my table with a beautiful plant of deep pink flowers and bought Easter candies and fruits for the snacks all about the cake. It all did turn out just as hoped.and everyone was happy.
There were eight women here and most read very great readings, and all so diverse. We had a rollicking time with much laughter and good will.
I celebrated my birthday early with gifts for them all. I found a huge white paper bag and had a grab bag for them..They all seemed truly pleased..It was fun wrapping all of them the day ahead of the critique and my back knew it..However the one pain pill that I take in those instances really works a miracle..

The weather has been pitiful here for two days and I have spent long hours here at the computer still editing my novel, the first of the two..
I did meet with Caroline, the water colorist this week to confer on the cover for it..She has some great ideas and I think we are in "tune". She will have a proof for me to see very soon.
Tomorrow is a clear day and I think that I can finish the edit on the book.

Well, I did take a quick look at all of the posts..
Mani, yes, it is so great to read your post and know you are healing..Keep up the good work on your recovery..We certainly have been thinking of you..

Marylou..Thank you for thinking that I am so active..I will tell you that very soon I must cut down on all this activity as I do pay for it in tiredness. Next week, holy week, looks a bit better here and I will go out to luncheon on my birthday with a friend and again on the 31st with my dil as she want to celebrate it with a luncheon too..I must watch my calories over this weekend with all of the meals out coming up..
'
My anniversary of my dearests death is on Tuesday It is now 15 years, It is so difficult to believe it has been that long..I feel him very near so many times. I will take a trip to the cemetery on Monday..
He passed away just a few hours after my 72nd birthday..I did tell you earlier of how he, ill as he was, arranged with my son to have flowers, candy and a card for me on that day..You could not find a better man anywhere..I love him so...

I again will promise to look in here more often..Forgive my days away..I do enjoy reading of what you all are up to. For now. .Love to all, Doris. emoticon

Keep smiling!

Leona, I was interested in the Boswelia not so much because of the knee, but because of my arthritis of the spine. I figure if it is a help for arthritis, how would it know it was only supposed to go to the knee? It would seem that if it would help the knee, it should help the spine?
Or so it would seem to me...........guess I am just looking for help anywhere I can find it.

Mani, I'm so happy to see you posting again. God bless you.

I finally heard from my cardiologist after wearing the Halter Monitor for 24 hours. Everything was OK, but he noticed a few skipped heartbeats. Will go back to see him on August 28th.

I still get short of breath when I walk, and also when I walk one flight of stairs. I'm exercising more, since I had not been exercising for over one year. I hope that will help.

My best to all of you.

Mary Lou- Turmeric is supposed to work also. Best thing I did was to have my knees done. My husband encouraged me to have them done.

Hope those feeling bad get better soon.

I took some nice black heels to Goodwill today. I will never wear heels again and I have some in the box, I will take also.

I am listening to an audiobook when I drive to Minneapolis. It is not one my husband would have liked. I will give it to the library when I am finished. It has 12 cds and I have 3 left. I can listen to one each time I go in the City. I won it in a contest years ago.

The ice is splitting across the lake now so it should be open soon and there is open water. The snow we had the other day melted quickly.

I did not see a message from Maureen. Hope she was not hit by the tornado.

Have a good night.
Leona emoticon

Mani, I wonder if you know anything about Boswelia, which I read in a doctor's column is used for arthritis of the knee in India. He also said two small studies have confirmed that.
Do you know if there is anything to this? I stopped at the health food store; they were out of it but before I have them order some from their sister store, I would like to have some idea if it works and I thought you might know.

Betty and Doris, I believe I read that both of you are 87 years old?? And there are others of you on here that are not that old, but are still very active.
You both are so active that it gives me hope. Maybe my mobility issues will improve with age and I will be able to do more??? Not likely, but a person can always hope, can't they? I'm not complaining as I am well aware that there are many who can't do as much at my age of 80 as I can, so I realize I am blessed.

I was so surprised to look out this morning and see snow!!! Not a lot, just enough to cover the cars, and it did melt before very long.

I just had a wonderful two days. My older ds stopped by yesterday after work and started the process of painting my living room.....removing all window treatments and hardware, moving furniture etc and then painted two walls before going home. He is the one who will be moving to Illinois soon.....
(Noooooooooooo!!!)

Today my ds who lives 95 miles away came in and completed the painting, put everything back and did at least a half dozen misc. small jobs that needed doing. He worked most of the seven hours he was here, but we did take out time to eat lunch and then again later to just visit over a bowl of fruit salad (I remembered he always did like fruit salad.).
Oh how I enjoyed that. Not to mention how nice my living room looks now.
Just gotta love those guys!

I just finished putting all of the books back in the bookcase; my back and legs were hurting too much for me to complete the things I wanted to do until I had taken a pain pill and used the coldpack, but it was sure worth it.

I have been invited to his house for Easter. That will be nice. Good possibility that my 7 year old ggd will be there for an Easter egg hunt, along with my gd Dani. Now I do hope that all works out since I don't see them very often. They usually come for my Christmas gathering but didn't make it this year.

Kinda hungry, but not sure what I will eat. But I will go check the freezer and pull out some frozen something or other and eat now before it gets any later. Some days I don't eat until 7 or 8, and I don't think it's a good idea to eat that close to bedtime.

Hey! I am late getting here again. Have been under the weather with a tummy upset. Started last night and most of today. Got on the scale this morning and I was astonished to see 151.4. Bet it will be more tomorrow....just had a boiled egg and slice of toast this morning. Maybe a bowl of soup tonight. Need to give my tummy a rest and just maybe will loose a little more.

Did manage to do my PT exercises. Have a routine that the therapist gave me to do twice daily.
They are working and I feel almost pain free most of the time now.

Lee sorry you got the bad weather over your way. We were prepared for the weather to come through but it must have moved down south. It has been cloudy and is still overcast and the temp has dropped going to be chilly tomorrow in the 60* and Sunday the same. But I don't think we even had a shower where I am today.

Mattie thanks for reminding me of a pair of black pants I have to hem. They have been sitting in the closet for months...I keep forgetting they are there. The hem in one leg unraveled. I know I have reached for them a few times and then realized I can't wear them until they are fixed. Now you have reminded me I will pull them out where I can see them and get the job done.

Have been reading today and taking it easy. Hope the stomach thing will be over and done with soon.

Have a good evening and will be back tomorrow.
Hugs and Blessing,
Dot

I tried to send a link to a writing member and Spark would not let me. I guess it is promoting the publisher to them and they do not want that. I get so tired of all the ads popping up when I come on. Seems you have to pay for the computer and yet you still get ads, same with tv.
I thought when we got Cable we would not get the ads because we were paying for it. Not true.

Well, we are getting snow again. l to 3 inches tomorrow and cold. They lied and said the whole week was going in the 40. Never can believe them anymore. Just can't seem to get rid of the darn stuff. Oil delivery came today and hope I don't have to start using it again.
It is cold in the house now and my legs start so need the heat.

Mani so nice to see you here again. Take your time and soon you will be strong enough again. You are a fighter.

Hi all:

I am very late. However, I did go run errands this a.m. as we were expecting rain around 1 p.m.
Hah! right at 1:15 it opened up into a gully washer and I had to shut down all things electric.
Glad to have it however.

I see you've been having some too Mattie Sue. We are to have out temps drop too.

However, Mary Lou no snow, and I understand your being sick of it.

Dot you sure were productive yesterday.

Thanks for asking about Brian's finger. It is slow healing but feels fine and he thinks
the infection is gone.

Aww what sweet pictures Elsie.

Barb, you are getting things done I need to do. I start and stop. Guest room bed is loaded with things I can't decide on.

Betty I do hope the bew shots start to work for you. As others have said I too hope you are having a great celebration with your family.

I have my regular cleaning half done and think I'll do more tomorrow.

Camey it sound like your plan is working for you. Good for you for sticking with it. It helps to hear someone is having success.

Great Kathy that you are getting with a Buddy. Maybe after Easter? You go gal.

I know I missed as not using notes or the gimmick with new tab but love you all.
Oh Mel and Maureen I hope you both feel better.

and Leona I heartily agree that it is so nice to hear good things about the younger generation.

I meant to ask Nas, do you still have the therapist to help you or are you on your own. you may have said but I am addle brained some times. (I used to be a blonde) emoticon

Love and hugs,
Lee

So very nice to hear from Mani. I wish I could give her some of my appetite. I have plenty.

Its hard for me to read the some of you have flowers in bloom. We just have snow. It did rain and a lot of the snow went. Soon I will be able to see getting out of my driveway. Its getting a lot warmer its 37 right now and feels really warm. Took off my winter coat.

I have been cleaning out a closet upstairs. Ohhhh so much junk. It was dump day today and I got rid of a lot of stuff. Now for Good Will. I may have 3 plastic bags full. My DD did good she took some pillows and jewelry. She had fun hearing the story's about the jewelry. One ring belonged to my mother. I hope she takes good care of it.

I found a million dead lady bugs in my closet. How the heck did they get in there.

So far we are both doing quite well. If only DH would listen to his body. He wants to do more than he should. Guess I will have to sit on him.

Hugs Barbara

I hope you will keep on steadily improving.
As for me, I have found another resident who has agreed to be my "Diet Buddy" and we are going to try to help each other stick to our eating plans and lose weight. Not sure yet when we will begin but we both hope to be true to our diets and improve our lives.

Well, the fish is working, lost another .2 today making .8 so far for the week. Having fish today and tomorrow and then next week will alternate.

Had rain yesterday and today another louzy day. Tomorrow is Sat and then Palm Sunday.
So lent will be over for Fish on fridays.

Washing clothes and will do towels tomorrow. Tues have apt for Hailey and hate it. As it takes 4 people to hold her down to give her shorts and cut nails. He anxiety is awful and they tried giving her something but it never took till she was home because of her anxiety.
They are going to xray her arthritis on the leg and will give her some gas to calm her and then give her some meds till they get the xray. I have to go in Sept too as her nails she does not like cut and she needs the 4 to hold her in Sept. too. Before, when small, my neighbor;s daughter cut them as she worked at a vet. It was so nice then, but now anxiety has taken over and she barks at everything, even the phone when it rings.

Hope all have a good day. And try the fish, it works. Of course, you can not eat fried foods or sweets or seconds if you want to lose. All my exercise is done in the morning, getting it out of the way.

Good morning! A bit gloomy this morning, but should brighten as the day progresses. I have a lot to do indoors in any case - already on my 2nd load of laundry. The NY family branch will be on the road soon (if they aren't already) and I'll see them early tomorrow. Cannot wait!

Yippppeeee, Mani!!! You are a wonder! It's wonderful to have you back with us. Take good care of yourself as you regain your strength.

Betty, enjoy your visit with your girls. What a special birthday you will have!

Dot, you managed your paper very quickly. Most of what I accumulate is genealogy records. After losing a great deal of research in a computer crash, I decided to keep hard copies of everything in "family" notebooks. Getting them filed seems to be my weak point - but I'm getting there.

Maureen, Mel, and others with colds - get well quickly. The weather will improve

Must run, but will check in later...

Hello all,

Betty- Enjoy.

Did anyone see the picture taken by a 14 year old in Oklahoma after the tornado? The telephone pole had broken and the poles became a cross hanging on the wires. The young man, Chase, took a picture and posted it on his Twitter account with the words. "God is with us". FOX showed it yesterday and had the young man on a little while ago. I love the stories of good young people.

It is sad on the plane crash. I pray for the families.
The MSP airport is very lax in their security with people walking back into the airport, taking things on board and more.

They have been looking for a 10 year old boy from Minnesota for almost 2 weeks now. His father said in Liberia, they do not harm their children but they are checking him because he has not been honest with the police. His present wife said he would not harm the child. I am praying he is found alive and well. We have too many sad stories like that here. I am sure other places also. When he got off the bus, his words on tape said he saw his father and uncle. An uncle there could be a family friend.

It is 16* now and I am ready for spring.

I am going into Minneapolis today as my oldest son called last night to say my youngest son is coming to the shop to work on the race car. I have 4 sons. I am taking him the book, You Have a Brain by Dr. Ben Carson for his 16 year old son. I think he wants to quit school and race and his father said no. Not that many make the racing field. The book is for teenagers. It is one I received to read and review. The final chapters are THINK BIG. T-Talent; H- Honesty; I-Insight; N-Nice; K-Knowledge; B-Books; I-In-Depth Learning; G-God.

I have talked enough.
Have a good day and take care.
Leona emoticon

Good Morning everyone,

Betts arrived safely yesterday and it is so grand to have her here. Chelly also came after world to spend the night, so we had some good catch-up time.

Mani: So glad to see you posting and hope that your strength soon returns. Stop by when you can.

Lee: I have to get the three shots, so far I don't see much difference but at least the eye is not irritated anymore.

I am now finished with all my doc appt.'s and that is a good feeling...Now, bring on spring and some nice weather so I can get out in the garden. My hyacinths are ready to bloom for Easter..

Lots of smiles to you all. Betty :)

Mel sorry you are not feeling up to par yet. Dairy sure does make mucus, I have that problem with my sinuses. It is so hard to get rid of.

Mani so good to see you posting. Glad that you were feeling able to visit us today. Bless your heart. Will look forward to you coming back stronger every day. Praying for that...We do miss you a lot. emoticon Praying also that your appetite will return. Take care dear friend.

I did succeed in getting rid of a lot of paper work yesterday the shredder was full steam ahead and I am caught up to date. Will try to get by to help you Frances.lol My in basket is empty!! Do have some filing to do but that tray is not over flowing yet. Some months ago I got caught up to date and loved the feeling. Promised myself I would keep up to date. Try to only touch a piece of paper once...it works!! Now if I can just keep it up....I am such a procrastinator!

Wonderful to see Mani posting with us. Can't keep a good woman down. You are a trouper!!

Now much news from my part of the world. Still congested from the cold. But I did get some sleep last night after taking some Nyquill. Thought some ice cream would be good from my throat. Wrong. It caused me to get filled with mucus. I researched it and sure enough - dairy products induces mucus. So no morning yogurt. Just toast and coffee. I still cannot taste anything.

Take care and have a good day. May the sun shine where ever you are.

Mary Lou, I am also looking in on 3 eagle nests. Two in Minnesota and one in Hanover, PA. Sounds like they may be the same ones you are watching. They are addictive, afraid you will miss something big if you aren't watching.

Mani,
How lovely to see you back. You were missed very much.

I had you in mind yesterday when I asked if anyone had heard of using Boswelia (frankincense) for arthritis of the knee as it is used in India for that purpose and some recent trials have shown it to be effective. I figure if it helps arthritis of the knee, it would help other areas of arthritis. I don't want to buy a supplement unless I have some reason to feel it works and is safe. Maybe you might know?

Listening to the TV about the airplane crash and that everything points to the co-pilot crashed it on purpose makes me so sad for the relatives of those killed. I cannot imagine why anyone would do that. No conscience at all??? Makes me feel weepy.
May the good Lord comfort those left behind.

Elsie, I sure wish I had that sweet picture to use on a card. I have never printed off pictures to decorate my cards (too easy and not original) but I would be willing to make an exception.

Time to check on my three (yes, I said 3!) eagle sites I am watching. One has three hatchlings, one has two unhatched eggs, and one has a hatched egg plus one yet to hatch.
I am spending too much time watching these birds, but oh, my! how interesting. Yesterday Papa bird on one site brought up a 10-12 inch fish and plopped it down in the nest. Mama paid no attention (not hungry, I guess) so he began eating it himself.

Time to give them a look-see and then get busy. My older son is coming over after work to move my living room furniture, tape, trim etc and get everything prepared for my younger son to come tomorrow morning and finish the job. I am thrilled to think I get to have a one-on-one visit with each of my sons! And this way I don't feel like I will be taking up too much time from either one. It is hard for me to have anyone do anything for me; even my kids. I hope nothing happens to change their plans. Their visit means more than the painting. I don't see them very much.

Good morning all:

I have Bible Study this a.m. and will then come home to change and drive over to the next town over to help at the Hospice Service of Remembrance. We have an office there too, but to be fair since we have many patients there we hold it in Sebastian every other service.

Mani how wonderful to see you online. Hope you continue to get stronger and are able to enjoy food soon again.

Thanks Elsie. We've been through this 4 years now. I will get back pay for this re appying. (It is not an appeal) Now we will be appealing.

As for his finger thanks all. Got it in time and he said a relief when they lanced it as pressure is off. So that was something nipped in the bud and if he follows directions, behind him.

Hope you are feeling better Mel!

Did the shot help Betty?

How is the eye Mary Lou? Still itching. I use over the counter Zaditor (but check with your DR)

Mickey and Marlene I think ALL of TSA should be retrained and rescreened themselves.

Enough of my jabber.
Hugs all,

When I went to Weight Watchers they said to eat fish 5 days a week. Well, we had it two days and lost another .4 today making .6 for the week, so guess it works providing you don't eat sweets. LOL

Had Mahi and checked it on the computer as they say it is dophlins not sure of spelling.
It is not the air breathing ones that you see in Fla, like Flipper, but another type of fish with the same name. It is very tasty. I had to check it as my gf told me it was the dophlins. The Hawwains farm them and eat them.

Well go to get breakfast as have to make out grocery list.

Had to get on the computer this morning to run a couple of items off and decided to pop in and say Good Morning. Nice surprise seeing you posting Mani - we all enjoy hearing from you. Hope your strength and weight returns - prayers continue.

Frances - I laughed when I read you had a 'crazy day.' When my kids were that age - all my days felt crazy!

Betty - glad you had a productive day and I hope the eye drops helped soothe your eye.

Better get myself in gear; working on a big project and if it comes to fruition - I'll be happy!

Take care.

Hello my dear friends,

Feeling much better so thought I'l just pop in with a quick Hi!!! to let you know I am gradually getting back to my old self but still don't have the stamina. I sleep for over 15 to 16 hours every day. Because of weakness is what the doc says. The best part being I didn't lose any weight this week and now need to gain 7 kilos and get to 65....it seems quite a task as I have no appetite at all. and the slightest change in diet gives me a stomach upset.

Lee, I am sorry about Brian's health and will surely keep him in my prayers

Nora have a safe trip to NZ....both my Grand Sons and 2 of my Great-grand-Sons are vacationing in Aus & NZ as I write and will be back on Tuesday. They were there for the Cricket World Cup....& I think India will Lose to Aus today.

Dot good to know that you will be done with your paperwork soon.....

Betty good luck with your tests

Frances do wish Kilean on my behalf and a big big grandma hug to the little fella

Well I really didn't take too many notes and honestly didn't read too much down either....will try getting on here more and more often...God willing

Doris, Mary Lou, Leona, Helen, Nas - my Bangla niece, Kathy, Camey, Barbara...and all you lovely ladies out there...have a great day and a lovely week....my essential tremors just make typing mere difficult as well so please forgive me....I did not mean to miss on mentioning others....

Hugs, Prayers & Blessings

Good Morning everyone,

I surprised myself and got everything accomplished that I had planned yesterday. Even got some cookies made. The shot in my eye with the new meds has been very irritating this time, so thank goodness I have eye drips to ease it.

Mammogram today and then a stop by to see my Curves friends at a restaurant. I won't have time to have lunch with them...

My dd arrives this afternoon and have to get the pot of soup and meatloaf made. It is going to be a rainy day and I pray she has a safe trip.

Kathy: So glad your eye is OK.

May the sun shine for us all...smiles, Betty :)

Rain, rain, and more rain today along with thunder and hail. We do need the rain though as it is very dry here with the strong winds that we've had.

Nora---your trip sounds absolutely fabulous.

Took Kira, 4 year old great granddaughter with pneumonia, back to the doctor today. Doctor wasn't happy with the way her lungs are or rather aren't healing. She is on a different antibiotic now. Her cough is a little better but just that her lungs aren't clearing of the pneumonia.

Lee--sure hope S.S. gets it together for Brian very soon. One of the good things is that when it is finally approved, he will get paid back to when he first applied. Now they do this in 2 or 3 payments instead of a lump sum like my husband got.

Getting late so will say good night.....sleep well.pleasant dreams....Elsie

Another crazy day today - I just seemed to be meeting myself coming and going all over the place! But things are settling down and I hope to have a quiet, productive evening.

We had a little rain overnight and it was still drizzly early in the morning, but it cleared up quickly and turned into a pleasant day. Tomorrow we are headed for 75 again. Yay!

Mary Lou, I laughed at your things reproducing themselves! The problem here seems to be with paper - maybe because I print out a lot of stuff LOL. I will say, my new colorful trays not only look lovely but they contain a lot of paper too. So, instead of having one big messy pile of paper, I now have a stack of several very tidy trays of papers. emoticon If only I could get them to file themselves away.

Kilean's birthday gift arrived but I don't have enough wrapping paper to cover it. I had to hide it away until I can get to the store. We're thinking of having his party on Monday when his cousins can celebrate with him. Should be lots of fun!

Betty, line dancing is so much fun and less stress on your body than tap, I should think.

Leona, that photo was a great find. Not only is it good genealogy, but it will serve as proof of provenance for the chair if your daughter wants to value it.

Nora, have a wonderful trip!

Lee, great you were there to help Brian. I hope his finger will heal soon.

Dot, when you finish your paperwork, stop by - I could use some help! emoticon

Marlene, hope you got your plants in. Seems as if winter just went out with a bang and spring took over so fast.

Well, since I'm way behind schedule for the day I'd best not dawdle on the computer either. Need to check my to-do list and see if anything can be completed in an hour or two...

Hi everyone - another cool day and the rains have started. Went into work today and was very busy; the da flew by. All I accomplished today was to change the CDs in my car. I find that the continuous music makes the ride go easier than listening to the news.

Dot - hope you got all your paperwork done.

MaryLou - that was some video with the cat.

Kathy - good news about the retinal bleed clotting over.

Mel - glad you are starting to feel better with your cold. Maureen - hope you feel better too

Lee - sorry to hear about Brian's latest problem.

Leona - that is scary about the airport. Hopefully the TSA person got suspended and has more mandatory training.

This is it for tonight.

Read all the posts. It was nice to hear from Sue through Marlene. Have missed her posts and hope she can get the computer fixed

I did not take notes because I am in the middle of going through paper work and want to get it done all in one day. So forgive me for not writing more. Mary Lou you inspired me!

Betty the line dancing would be great you just might inspire me to get to our Recreation Center..they have so many programs and I keep promising myself I will sign up for a class in something and then I procrastinate.

Take care everyone and have a great evening.

Hugs,

Tickled me, and I am not particularly a cat-lover. Not a cat-hater, either, so don't get upset!!

I used to have two cats I really loved and enjoyed. Got over it and now enjoy not having any pets to have to find care-takers for when I'm away for a few days.

Monday I thought I was getting pinkeye, as my left eye was very painful and showed some red on the lid...plus it itched. By Tuesday I could tell it was the beginning of a sty, so I used some sty med on it and it is much better, except for the excessive itching. I was grateful it wasn't pink eye, so I wasn't contagious and could go to exercise class. Then I stopped at Walmart and bought small pots of daffodils and tulips to go with the pots of hyacinths I had bought earlier. Just can't do without my flowers, even if I have no place to plant bulb! I also bought some packets of seeds to sow in some of my containers just as soon as it is safe.
Yesterday it hailed, last evening it stormed with loud thunder, but today the sun it shining and it reassures me that Spring is on its way. Seems like it's been a long time coming, and I know there will still be some bad weather, but it is so heartening to see the sun and feel the warmth.
God is good, all the time.
I have been cleaning out folders (off and on) and shredding, and I am happy to say that I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Such a distasteful job, and I don't keep at it the way I should. I have promised myself a treat.....I can make cards again as soon as I am finished with it. Also, at the same time, I am filling a bag with unused or unneeded items as I run across them to take to the thrift shop. I took one bag Saturday plus some clothes on hangers, so if I keep at it, I will begin to see progress. Things do accumulate, don't they? I think they reproduce while we sleep. I guess I should stay up some night and check that out?
I just finished reading a column by a dr in the newspaper where someone asked him about using Boswelia (frankincense) for arthritis of the knee, and he said some studies have shown it to be helpful, but to be aware that supplements are not checked by the FDA to see that the ingredients are as advertised. He said it is used in India for arthritis of the knee, and that some studies have shown it to be useful. I get no relief from Ben Gay or any other cream or gel.
Has anyone heard of it or known anyone who has used it? I would be interested in knowing.

Saw Retinal specialist this AM. He said I did have a "Bleed" into the Retina of the right eye but that it had sealed itself over and should be OK. What a miracle!! He wants to see me in a month to check it again. And he told me to take multivits, eat lots of fish, and use the Preservision tablets, which I have been doing. I think he told me some more health precautions to take but I forgot already. I do have Macular Degeneration but I knew that already.
Thanks for your good wishes NASFKAB--hope I got it right.

I think I am going to live. This cold really wiped me out.
Maureen, I know what you are going thru. I think I slept 22 hours out the 24.
One upside of it - I lost 2 pounds. Yesterday the only thing I ate was a piece of toast with some peanut butter on it.
I will take today to catch up on things around the house.

Lee, so sorry to hear about Brian's newest set back. Is he diabetic? Hopefully they caught it in time and it will heal without any problems.

Marlene, enjoy your day gardening. Hopefully your plants with get a nice gentle rainfall tonight.

Mattie, I sometimes wonder about my microwave as it takes a while to get things warmed up.
Now days, they are not worth repairing.

Camey, good luck with your search for a publisher.

Leona, that sounds scary about the airport. Hopefully they did stop her.
Enjoy the fireplace. I miss a fireplace, but sometimes I put one up on my TV screen.

Nora see you in April. Enjoy the trip.

Betty, what a wonderful pre birthday party with your tap friends. Dancing at the senior center sounds like a winner.

One problem about only having one eye done is my eye sight is really off. I can take off my glasses and shut my bad eye and see pretty good. I hate walking around with one eye closed. LOL This too shall pass.

Have a good day.

PS: Sue, hope to see you back with us soon. You are missed. I thought you were off traveling.
Welcome to Amy. Hope you post often.

Hi all:

Right after I wrote yesterday, DIl Pam called and asked if I come see Brian while she
was in Edocrinologist office. Wanted me to check his finger. Sure enough it was badly infected.
The ER was across the street so they went there after applying to renew their indigent help before it expired. I returned home and changed for a visitation. Decided not to go to service.

Marlene, glad you had such a good time yesterday.

Sue you are missed around here and hope you can get your computer up and running, whether it be Pad or PC.

Have a good trip Nora.

Hope you get to feeling better Maureen!

And Kathy the same goes for you and your sister.

Prayers for all!

Hope you enjoy the luncheon Camey and Happy BD to DH.

I know you are excited about your day tomorrow Betty, Just don't wear yourself out
getting ready!

Leona, I am picturing you sitting in front of the fireplace going through pictures and how nice that you found one of your uncle holding hour daughter.

Kay I hate to hear you are still having snow. Stay warm.

I must go pick up a script but first will take a walk over to the clubhouse to see if the treadmill is fixed.

Hugs all,
Lee

Chilly here this morning, upper 40s. It is supposed to climb to 80 today and possible storms tonight. It is that time of the year when the tornadoes lurk in the forecast. Not ready for stormy weather altho we need rain bad as we are in a burn ban.

The luncheon last evening was nice and saw a lot of people that I used to know. My next door neighbor was there, we could have ridden together but we did not know the other was going.

I have some plants that I need to plant, I need to get out and get it done. I will probably have to soak the ground where I do that.

Have a great day!! emoticon from the Senior hug president.

Fish came out good. Lost another .2 today making .4 in two days. When I went to Weight Watchers they told me to eat fish for 5 days and I was loosing, so maybe we need to eat more fish and stop snacking. LOL

I am going to a birthday luncheon today. Tomorrow is DH's birthday.

Exercise done so now to start bike before I go out.

Checked some publishers yesterday but didn't find any, so will try to do more today.

Is Mamm magazine still being published? I can't seem to send them an email as it comes back. They are a cancer mag and thought I could send a cancer article I wrote. They pay l00 dollars.

Hello all,

Betty-how fun.

Another problem at the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. The have a terrorist that served time was on the no check list. When a TSA agent noticed her and reported it, another one said let it go.

We got a touch of snow again but it will not last.

I found a picture yesterday of my uncle when he was about 2 years old sitting on a rocker. My daughter has the rocker as it was mine. My grandmother was paid with the rocker for doing housework for someone and my aunt had my name on the bottom of the chair to make sure I got it. Now we will have some date for the rocker. I am glad someone wrote the name of my uncle on the photo.

My fireplace in on now. I love it and my husband did a good job of designing it and our oldest son building it. It has brick on the front and brass trim.

I got up at 4:30 AM again so probably will have a nap today.

I will check messages later.

Good Morning everyone,

My tap friends surprised me yesterday with a birthday celebration. They had gifts and brought a lovely lunch that we enjoyed after class. They had the cutest cup cakes iced with a mound of pink frosting and a cute Easter hat on top. They posted a pic on Facebook.

Off to get the shot in my eye today...I am anxious to see if this new med makes any difference. My sister said her friend has good success with it..so we shall see.

Got all the vacuuming done and the kitchen floor scabbed yesterday, and made banana bread. ...Today, I go to the grocery in preparation for my dd's arrival tomorrow.

I am going to check to see if the senior center is still having line dancing classes...so maybe I can replace the tap with that.

Smiles to you all, Betty :)

I am home, we had a real nice meal. No dessert and that is good as I am trying to not eat sugar.
I got home a little after seven, the sun was still shining so I did not have to drive after dark. Tomorrow night church is not out until eight and is starting to get dark. A neighbor and I go together.
I am thinking about going to bed early. I keep yawning so must be time.

Hi everyone - still very chilly here. I was tired of listening the news in my car, so I put my CD player on. But I still had my Christmas CDs in - so I enjoyed Christmas music and it was cold enough!

My iPad froze last night, then I got a black screen. Nothing seemed to work,so I went out on the Internet and there were three solutions. I had already tried two of them but the third one worked! I was surprised at how much I missed the IPad.

Nora - that does sound like a lot of traveling but I'm sure your family will give you any help you need. Please remember to ask for help and enjoy the family.

Time for me to get the kitchen cleaned up. Take care.
