We posted one of Vic's motorcycles on craigslist and it sold right away. The guy called 10 minutes after we posted. We've got to take the ad off today because we are getting lots of calls and emails. Any of you ever post on craigslist?

G.

Enjoy each day.

Good Morning:

Yesterday I met with the Hospice Grief Counselor. He so wants to help. None-the-less, all the time I was talking to him I felt I was wasting my time; I wanted to be doing something relaxing for me, and of course, it wasn't. After I met with him I ran some errands. I first went to the Mall to get a couple of summer nightgowns and some undies. The prices for a little nightgown, 100% cotton, was $20 at JC Penney. I thought it was terrible for some unimaginative, thin thing, but I took it anyway. I checked out a couple of other places and either they didn't have 100% cotton, and, if they did, their prices were comparable or higher.

I also stopped with some donations for the Hospice thrift shop and made a run to the supermarket. When I got home Vic wanted some Taco Bell, so I made a run to the boarder, leaving him alone for a few minutes. By the end of all that I was hot, tired and didn't feel that I had any rest at all. Somehow, I've got to set aside that time for me, either going to lunch with friends, going to a movie, or doing something where I don't feel wiped out and rushed by the time I return home.

Sending you all lots of hugs,

Gail

Enjoy each day.

Hope everyone is doing well and have some ideas/plans for a fun weekend. I had some soreness in my shoulder last night.. But I had been very busy and playing with grandchildren so that probably didn't help. My hip is better and now feeling pretty good. It is 100 degrees during the day now in Ohio. It is actually cooler in Florida...can't wait to go back. We actually plan to return to Florida next week. Looking forward to it although we have enjoyed visiting family and friends in Ohio.

Gail - I also agree that Hospice nurses/counselors are so wonderful. I am amazed at their dedication.

Hello Friends,
Hospice really helped a lot with my Mom and they were able to talk things through with me and help me understand she would not be in any pain throghout the whole thing. I worked in two nursing homes and worked with Hospice a lot and they are great and will be there for you. You and your husband are in my prayers every day and feel free to post how you are feeling every day on here too so we can be supportive to you Gail. God bless you during this time!

I went to the library, bank and Wal Mart yesterday and got 4 books to read and bought some quilt panels to embrodary and make into a quilt. So I am exicited about doing that. My niece just has a month and half left until she has my great niece or great nephew! I am so excited! She just got married a year ago and he has teenage sons and she also has a teenage son so maybe it will be a girl this time! As long and her and the baby are healthy I will be happy! She has had some blood clots but seems to be doing well now. Hope everyone has a good day!

I am feeling a lot better although exhausted tonight. Had an appointment earlier, went to the store to pick up a few grocery items and then picked up the grandchildren. It was hot and we did spend some time outdoors together. By the time they went home, I was very sleepy. Although I did clean up the kitchen after our meal together etc. Hubby is still not feeling well. I told him if he is not feeling well in a couple of days he really needs to seek medical attention. Also took the cat to the vet yesterday. He was passing blood in his urine and a bit disoritented. The vet thinks he has a urinary tract infection and was given a shot and meds. I hope it helps otherwise he will need some testing.

Pat - have a safe trip.

Sandy - happy that you are doing better.

Best wishes to all for a great Thursday.

Hello Friends,
Thanks so much for the support about realtionships. I have dated other men since my divorce but just dont' stay with any of them for very long. I think I am just scared to get marrried again after having such a bad marriage with my ex husband. But I do have 2 more men that were interested in me but for now I am just going to spend some time alone and see what I can do for myself and just work on crafts and stuff like I like to do. My apt was no deposit, no app fee and I got a $200 gift card to Wal Mart yesterday! So I am going to Wal Mart after I finish here at the library and see if I can find the quilt stuff my niece was working on so I can make some quilts for Christmas gifts if I can figure it out. My niece just has a month and half and I will have a new great niece or great nephew! I am so exicited! wish my mom could have lived long enought to see this happen. I plan to make a reunion of just my Mom and Dad's family sometime so we can all see each other at least once a year. But not this year maybe next summer. Take care everyone Darla

Well my time is getting short and I will miss checking in on everyone so praying everyone stays healthy while I am gone.
Linda I am happy your home is ok. They were saying on the news that the Sunshine Skyway has been closed since Sun and this is the longest it has been shut down. We are lucky here-no flooding in our area.
We got the rv's back this afternoon.and I got most of the stuff I had sitting around loaded so close to being ready to go!
DH's pressure was good for 2 days and up again tonite, but he forgot his noon pill so hoping it will come back down since I gave it to him this evening.
I-10 is closed up near I-75 so praying that it is back open by Fri. I feel so bad for those folks who are flooded as there isn't a thing they can do but watch the water rise and then go back down.
Nite all

Well, I am getting better each day. Learning to use my left hand a lot. By the time the right hand heal I'll be a switch hitter. Ha!

Well, I see the Doctor on Monday to change the bandages and see what is next. I did find out after surgery that the cords were pinching a nerve in my hand which was causing the numbness, pain and other problems. The doctor had to make 2 cuts one in the palm and another at my wrist. My hubby has been caring for me a lot and doing a great job. I sleep with my hand on 2 pillows to keep it leveled. The Staff was wonderful and the doctor called the night of the surgery to check on me and then the surgery nurse called me on Sunday to check on me. I haven't been in a lot of pain.

I'm glad to see that everyone is on a summer cleaning. It does feel good when you clean out things you don't use.

Well, I'm getting sleepy so will go for now. Thank you again to all of you for your prayers and warm wishes.

Love & hugs to all of you!
Sandy

Darla, I think you're on th right track & I also agree with Pat. I was divorced for 5 years before I met & married Bill. Met a lot of frogs during that time. I really didn't plan on getting married again - just having a steady boyfriend. I think being alone so much lead me down some wrong relationships. They all started out great but the longer they went the more different we became. In fact, I wasn't looking when I met Bill. I thought he was perfect for one of my best friends. He's the "take care of " kind of man. I'm the "I can take care of myself" type of woman. He was persistant. LOL I always told him that if I died first he had to marry her. Sadly she died lat month - still looking for the perfect man. Sounds like you really enjoy crafts & art so I'm glad you're getting back into it.

This morning Bill watered the orchard. He'd watered the garden last night. While he took a load of aluminum (100 lbs) to turn in I waterd the rest of the stuff & mowed the lawn. Then we put cardboard in the fence flower bed. Later on we'll put mulch over it Except for the heat & being on the dry side the yard is almost caught up. The wind really dries thing out.

Yes, Kurt, where are you & how are you?

Sounds like everyone's busy sorting & getting rid of stuff. Isn't that a great feelin when it's gone? We just lack the area beside the shed. That'll go to the recycle place also. Still have the windows but am hoping to get rid of them within a week or so. The auction is closing down at the end of the month for July & August so that's when we'll get the craft room done. Bill plans on getting rid of a lot of tools & ect. I'm not sure what I have out there.

Anyway, hope everyone had a good & safe day!

Good Morning:

Went to lunch yesterday and ran some errands. I got my car washed and that really made me feel good. I also brought things in to Easter Seals and Hospice thrift shops. I just bring one load after another. A friend helped me get things down from the top shelf of my closet and I've two bags full of hats, gloves and scarves, as well as two overnight cases.

Vic has agreed to get rid of his two motorcycles. As soon as our sil takes pictures of them he will post them on Craig's list. We need to get them out of the garage so I can clear out other things and make sufficient room for the 2nd car.

Will do some more in-door "weeding" and will read today.

Hope you all have a happy day.

Gail

Darla: I think it's good that you concentrate on yourself for a while. You need another bad relationship like a fish needs a bicycle.

Kurt: Miss you a lot. How are things going? What have you been doing?

Linda: So sorry your hip is bothering you. Take care.

Enjoy each day.

I have had a lot of hip pain for some reason. I have been doing a lot of hobbling around. We are both having problems around here. Hubby is having a racing pulse. Our youngest daughter is in healthcare so she will be over after her shift (soon) to check it out. I really would like him to go to the doctor for a physical but difficult to get him to go. If we were at our home in Florida, we would be right in the middle of the rains that have occurred since the weekend. We live near the beach in the Tampa Bay area. Our home is okay but there is a lot of flooding closeby. It was good that we came to Ohio for a couple of weeks.

Darla glad to hear from you. Sorry things did not work out but best to find out early in a relationship. In this day and age one needs to be really careful. If it is meant to be, then the right guy will come along and likely when you least expect it. You are right to concentrate on YOU. It is more important to get yourself healthy and feel good about where you are in life. I know it can be lonely but better to be lonely alone than lonely in a relationship that isn't working.
We had more rain today and I spent my morning waiting on the dr's office to call and dr finally called this evening about 5. We have a game plan now for keeping the BP under control while we are gone.
I got out this afternoon and finally got my haircut and then ran a few more errands. Picked up some water at Walgreens for the trip that was on sale, got our krill oil tablets at CVS as they were BOGO and last stop was Publix for just a few things (fit in 1 bag).
I think I have about 3/4 of my stuff ready to go into the rv when we get it home and the rest will be last minute items. DH & I got most of the yard ornaments picked up between showers today. We didn't want things flying around if a hurricane should come thru. My list is shrinking!!

Hello Freinds,
Well I dated two men from the homeless shelter I was in and neither one worked out. The last one had such a anger problem that he was just taking his anger out on me every day to the point I was not even able to sleep or eat at the end. We just broke up a few days ago. So I am just going to focus on my onw life and try to keep working on losing some more weight. I love my apt and there is a park across the street that has a swimming pool so I am going to start swimming and get some exercise in. my kids and I are doing great! Maddie my granddaughter lost her first tooth and looks so cute! She is 4 now! I have dated quit a few men and talk to a lot of men since i have been divorced and tried to go back to my ex husband a lot of times but that never works since he always cheats on me. So I think it would be better to be with some other man than my ex husband. But for now I am just going to work on myself. I have an associates degreee in Art and bought some coloring books and picked a picture out of it to draw and color. I think I will buy a national geographic book with real animals to draw. I can't draw people very well but i can draw animals. doing things like that helps me deal with my stress. I like to do crafts and make things too. I made all my Christmas gifst over the years for my family. The apt complex has computers so i will try to get on here more often. love to all. Darla

Today was pretty good. I went to church and took a walk later. Also squeezed in a nap before stepmother called. She is out of the hospital and doing better. Has her 79th birthday on Tuesday but doesn't want to celebrate. The cat has played outdoors a lot. (indoor/outdoor cat). But still taking him to see the vet tomorrow. Hope to go back to Florida soon. Still hoping to take a short trip with youngest daughter but she has been a bit under the weather for the last few days. I have been getting updates about our weather at our home - the storms are ferocious in Florida at this time. It is good we came to Ohio.

Sandy that is wonderful news. Now just get better.

Raining cats and dogs here pretty much all day long. I got up at sunrise to walk and it was a mist then but before I was halfway done, it started raining pretty hard and I got drenched but I got my walk in!!
I was going to run some errands today but decided I would wait till tomorrow so hoping we get a break so that I can-I hate running in and out of stores in the rain.
Got some of my cleaning done before we leave. DH is still up and down on his BP (great yesterday, not so good today) so hoping his nephrologist will have some answers or suggestions or another medicine to use!
Played on the new phone some today and getting more familiar with it but don't expect me on here much while we are gone-too hard to navigate on that small screen!!!

I am so sorry LVL has not treated you good. We bought our membership from an individual and then sold to another individual so other than going into the office for some paperwork we didn't deal with them much. I know over time things have gotten worse there, but we just stayed in the campground and it worked for us for about 6 years when we lived full time in our rv as we could stay there for "free" in the summer-just the dues kept going up and up!!! Glad we don't have to worry about it anymore.
Gail I hope they catch the person who stole your wallet, but don't count on it. I hope the tips I sent you helped. Don't forget to notify the credit bureaus.
I had a girl's day out with Vicky, her GD, and their cousin, Faye, today. We did some thrift stores, Sam's club, The Dollar Tree and Aldis. Nothing the guys like to do too much so it was nice not having them rush us. I got a pr of shorts as I needed to get some smaller ones to replace some of mine.
I took a nice long nap after I got home!! Tonite I fixed leftovers (trying to clean out the fridge and freezer before we leave).
DH's BP has been good all day today. I am hoping we are getting it under control.
Pat

Pat, I'm so mad at Lost Valley i could spit nails. We joined in 1988 & they never filed our warnity dee in Hermann. We went down there Thursday to check as we're wanting to get out of Lost Valley. I had to cll them & they're supposed to send us paper work to get the thign recorded. We wnt to a meeting after receiving a letter from them. They said they'd "HELP" us. They kept trying to get us to upgrade even though we kept telling them we didn't use it & wanted to get rid of it. Then they said they help but we had to pay the dues next year & give them $4995.00 before they'd take it back. I thought Bill was going to lose it. He did tell them that sll they'd done was lie to us. I'm thinking of going to the news & AARP after we get it recorded. All we want to do now is have someone pay for the recording & sign it over to them.

Gail, how alful for you. I hope they find her fast. But don't get your hope up that the law will do anything except slap her on the hand. It really gets you down when you see so many people breaking the law & getting away with it..

Supposed to be 100% Sunday. It's really dry & we're watering every other day.

We're going to visit the youngest so I can fix the 5 yr olds pillow that he's had since he was born.He can't seem to do without it. Need to get outside before the heat hits. Hope everyone has a good & safe day!

Good Morning:

On Thursday, after we discovered my wallet was stolen, my daughter called Target and asked if they could pull the tapes on the woman who made the purchases with the stolen card. The store did this and further said they would check the tapes of other store cameras to see if a better picture appeared. Since that step was already taken, I got moved up the list and the police stopped by to get the story and assign me a case number. Boy, I hope they catch that *(&*(&*(& woman.

I'm doing all right. Today I get rid of the last large batch (I hope) of magazines. Got to do more with the garage, so I'll focus on that after I catch my breath.

Hope you are all doing well,

G.

Linda: Awesome on the walking.

Enjoy each day.

Oh Gail, I'm so sorry. I've had this happen before and it's just a nightmare, even when you don't have much money in your wallet. I know that you really didn't need this kind of complication in your life right now and I hope that dealing with it doesn't wear you out too badly. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sandy, I've been out of the loop for a few days. I hope that your surgery went really well and that you're beginning your recovery nicely. You've had so many problems with that hand for such a long time...I hope this will take care of all of that, or at least most of it.

As of 1:30 this afternoon I'm on VACATION!! emoticon I'm going to spend my birthday week with my parents in Tucson, where it's even hotter than it has been here. emoticon emoticon At least they have functional air conditioning...recently I have not. I've never gone to Tucson in the summer and depending on how well my body handles the heat, I may or may not ever go in the summer again. I thought long and hard about it, but I really wanted to spend the week with my parents so I'm giving it a shot. I'm flying to Tucson on Monday and coming back the following Monday. I'll spend the second week of my vacation just taking care of stuff here at home...assuming that the fix they did on my cooler this afternoon continues working...

Tomorrow I'm going to get together with one of a very small number of people (3) from high school that I'm still in touch with. I was miserable in high school so I haven't made any effort to stay in touch with any people except the friend I'm going to see tomorrow. He and his wife are in town for a reunion that I'm not going to but at least we can all get together for lunch or dinner or something. Good thing they're going to be here this weekend and not the next one.

Anyway, enough blabbing on about not much of anything. I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend.

There was much rejoicing!

Good Morning:

I didn't sleep well last night. Yesterday I had my wallet stolen at a local Panera's. In addition to my insurance, credit and debit, and road service cards, I had a few hundred in cash, my driver's license and my library card. Like everyone else there was a lot of other stuff, but I've been drawing a blank as to what they were. I never used to have more than $20 for emergencies and just enough cash if I planned to shop at stores that only take cash. However, for the past few months I've carried a lot of money. The hospice volunteers stay with Vic when I run errands. Because they are with him for a specific time I run like a mad woman from one place to another to get back before the clock runs out. It's very easy to get stuck on long lines at the supermarkets, post office, bank, etc. To save time at the supermarket I've been using the self-checkout which only take cash. I will have to think of something else in the future since carrying so much cash is not a good idea.

Today I need to contact all the important institutions to get new cards and alert them to the theft. UGH. I needed this like a hole in the head.

Gail

Enjoy each day.

Thursday was a busy day. I did get a lot of exercise with all the activity. It was another sunny and hot day - mid 90s. Of course, I try to stay in the a/c as much as possible. I ran some errands with youngest daughter. We went to a few stores and I purchased a few things such as vitamins, gift cards, etc. When I came back to the house I did some laundry and picked up a few things around the house. I then went to oldest daughter's house to chat and pick up the grandkids. We played a lot together. We took a walk, played outside together and I really enjoyed it. We had some dinner with hubby and then played indoors.

Sandy - I hope it is a fast recovery for you.

Gail - did you get to have a cup of coffee with your friend? I hope so.

Well, I have surgery at 10:40am and I have to be there at 9:40 am. It is an hour and half long with an hour recovery time. I am so glad that the day is here and I am getting it done. My hand has been feeling really tight and swollen (due to the arthritis) but, feel the tendons pulling.

I think my DH is more nervous than I am about the surgery. I have had a few in my time and being an ex- MA and working in Medical field for 25 yrs I know what to expect. I am already throwing DH out of the house to play golf on Monday so he won't go stir crazy as I know I will be fine by Monday.

Recovery time is about 6 weeks. Will know more after the surgery. My poor Uncle, who is 96 yrs old was cute as he is concerned. He talked to DH and made sure that he calls as soon as I am out. DH may a promise he would.

Well, that is all for now. I will try to check in when I can. We have several new members that may need help. You all stay cool and hydrated and healthy.

Sandy

Good Morning:

Looks like the Nissan might need some work. Our sil went on Craig's list and saw that that particular model is very desirable. If we take care of all that has to be done we should clear a few thousand out of it, so that's the route we're taking. Our granddaughter doesn't want it if she has to put any money in to fix it up. Welcome to the real world....

It's been dreadfully hot the past couple of days and I'm so thankful we have air conditioning. I cannot imagine people suffering with the temps high in the 90's.

Wishing you all a bright day.

G.

Enjoy each day.

Gail I am so happy you are able to escape into your book. I do know how draining all this is on you and it is good to be able to just forget your cares for a time. Sounds like your granddaughter would get a nice car if she takes the Nissan-I know when we brought dad down here he gave one of his granddaughters his little Mercury and it was well taken care of with low miles too. Not sure if she still has it or not but he tried to help her at least.
Sandy so glad to hear that the surgeon is going to work you in quickly and will pray that you have a speedy recovery. Being without both hands is difficult for sure.
Linda I hope your step-mother is doing better and that you are having a good time visiting with all your family. Enjoy the grandchildren! They will give you a good workout or at least mine do me when we see them!
CopperPenny I do believe it is hot up in MO-in fact the kids say it is warmer up there than it has been in Fl. We will be passing close to you in Aug-we have a friend who lives in St. James so planning to spend a couple days with her. We miss going out to Lost Valley near Gerald. That is where we spent a lot of our time in the summers when we lived in our rv so we could be close to the kids but it was quite a drive to STL. Could you tell it to cool down before we get there in Aug-ha ha! We always say it is no hotter down here than up there, it just lasts longer.
I took DH to the cardiologist for his BP check this afternoon and it was perfect. However, because it is fluctuating so much, they would like for him to see the nephrologist before we leave next Fri but when I called when we got home, he is out of town till Mon so will see if his nurse can work us in next week, if not, we will just have to deal when we get back in Sept!!!!
We are getting tired of all the dr visits-not sure we are making progress.
I got out and walked about 6:30 with Abbie and DH walked about 7 with Sonny. Without DH, I walked at least an extra mile-think I did a little over 3 this morning. I have spent the rest of the morning doing some paperwork, making phone calls, doing laundry and ironing, etc.
We are leaving in a few min to go to eat-we have a monthly meal in our community for the birthdays for that month and we try to go most of the time. This month there are only about 15 going but in the winter months it is nothing for 60-70 to go. There are only about 60 out of 200 homes who live here year round and quite a few of the ones who live here full time are going north for their annual visit up north now so probably only about 45-50 here at present.
I took my helper around yesterday to show her what she needs to do in the gardens while I am gone. I am hoping she at least tries to keep things in control or I will have a real job when I get back. Oh well, I am not going to worry as I am going to enjoy this trip!!!
I started packing DH's clothes in the rv today and have most of what he will need in there. Not taking too much as I plan to wash weekly so I don't have to take as much stuff. I got one of the medicines we ordered from our mail order pharmacy but still waiting on 2 more to arrive and our new portable icemaker. It should be here tomorrow- emoticon .
Tomorrow we are going to see about the new phone so I can get on the internet while we travel. Seems every day we get involved and don't get there so have to get there or I won't have it. Not sure how much sparking I will be able to do but hoping some.
Pat

Good morning:

Had a good night's sleep, something I no longer take for granted. Need to get busy clearing things out of the garage today so we can get Vic's old Nisan out of the garage. Our granddaughter might be interested in it. She will be taking it over to a mechanic to see what if anything has to be done with it. It's a 1995 sporty thing and doesn't have a scratch or a dent. Vic only drove it in good weather, so there is no rust. It looks sharp. If she doesn't want it we may sell it (our sil says it's worth about $2500) or we may give it to Rawhide. We'll see. It has very low mileage.

I'm reading another Anne Perry book and am really engrossed in it. So good. It's so good to escape into another time and another place. She spins a good yarn.

Keep safe, cool and happy.

Gail

Linda - I hope your Step Mother is doing better. You stay cool and Hydrated on your walks. Glad that your Shoulder is OK.

Copperpenny - Keep Hydrated and cool.

Pat - I hope your DH's new meds start to work soon.

Gail - Hope everything is going good with you and that you are getting out with your friends once in a while.

Val - Hope that you are doing better.

Laurie - Sounds like your Veggie garden is coming along.

I hope that everyone Hubby's had a wonderful Father's days.

I saw the Hand Doctor today and I will be having surgery this Friday. So, I may be MIA for a little while but, will try to check in. It took a little doing but, explained to the doc that I am Right handed and 2 more bands have popped out and it getting more uncomfortable for me to manage my quality of life with just one hand. I truly believe that my life with my arthritis would be a lot easier to manage if I have better mobility of my hand. The doc finial came around and agreed. So, Friday it is. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.

Keep up the great work you are doing and the support that you are giving to each other. I am proud and love all of you very much.

Sandy

Today I found out that my step mother has been hospitalized for dehydration. I guess it was a good thing we came back to Ohio and I will pay her a visit. Talked with her a few times on the phone. Youngest daughter and I took a long walk this evening. It was hot and humid - approximately 90 and we walked for 45 minutes. Fortunately, that late in the day there was a lot of shade to walk in. lol Thursday we will pick up the grandkids from oldest daughter and spend some time with them. Actually we have plans for everyday this week up until Sunday. So it is a busy time but a good time as well

We're having 90+ temps, high humitiyt & winds 20 - 35 MPH. Supposed to be this way off & on all week with "maybe" a storm on Wednesday. Got the wash done & hung out to dry. Already have it taken down, folded & put away. Didn't take long to dry.

Sorry everyone seems to be having health trouble. Hope things get better for everyone soon. Hope everyone has a good & safe day!

Linda that is good news. Enjoy your time with family.
DH has gone the extremes on his BP-was very high yesterday evening so gave him the new medicine this morning and it got down to 76/57! Can't win. I have a feeling he will be getting a revamp on his meds when we return from our trip. About 5 yrs ago something similar happened and dr hospitalized him to stabilize things (spent 2 days in ICU) and it has been good until now. Glad dr trusts me at adjust his meds as needed.
Took him to Red Lobster for Father's Day. Haven't been there in over a year or more so he really enjoyed it. I brought over half of my meal home.
Hope all of the Father's have had a great day. It has been hard for me-1st year without dad here and it seems strange. I was pretty down this morning but doing better this afternoon/evening. Seems it is the simple things that set me into a crying jag. I am also trying to wind up the settlement of his estate before we leave so it is all raw anyhow.

Linda, I'm so happy to hear that the popping sound wasn't something really super serious. I just had horrible visions of what it could have been. emoticon (I've got a separated shoulder and a bum knee with really bad arthritis, really good at hurting myself, so things that make noises and/or cause serious pain just tend to worry me. emoticon ) I hope that whatever scar tissue is going to break up will hurry up and do it so that you won't have so much pain caused by it. Enjoy your time in Ohio.

There was much rejoicing!

In record time, we came to Ohio so I could visit my surgeon. He has Saturday hours one day a month. I was very happy that THIS Saturday was the time he was available. Xrays were performed in his office. My prosthesis is looking good. The pain was very severe last night. He said that I have developed inflammation in my shoulder. I have been prescribed meds which should help with the inflammation. Also, the loud popping I hear and feel is scar tissue breaking up after the surgery. I guess when I lie in certain positions while sleeping, I am actually breaking up the tissue. I feel better after seeing the surgeon. Now we will spend a few weeks in Ohio visiting family.

Dragged DH out of bed and out to walk by 7 am-wanted to do it before it got too hot. We walk for aobut an hour and get in almost 3 miles most days. After breakfast I headed to W-M to pick up his medicine and got a few things-like a tooth brush to keep in the rv! I also stopped at our Saturday market and picked up a tomato and plan to indulge in a BLT in a day or so. When the tomatoes are good we do like to enjoy one occasionally.
Friends found us a coleman stove and cooler at a yard sale today. This cooler will fit between our bed and dresser and that will work better for us.
I spent about 2 hours at the pool this afternoon. For some reason it was a bit cooler in the water than normal. That just made me keep moving more to stay warm.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.
Pat

Val, that's fantastic news. Good for you. It's wonderful for you to post such great news.

Pat, you did find some really great bargains. I just avoid buying clothes if at all possible. 'Course, I do hope that if I work out long enough I'll be much smaller and will need to buy clothes, but until then, I'll continue to avoid it.

Great weather here, so I finished planting the rest of our veggies and I just finished mowing the lawn again. I've done most of the housework and now I need to turn my attention to the upstairs and get busy making another baby quilt. The baby shower is in 2 weeks and I haven't started it. If I just stop fussing around, I can get it done in one day, but I keep getting side tracked. No more of that. I'm running out of time!

Val what wonderful news! emoticon for you.
I hope the dr can find out what is going on with your shoulder, Linda.
We had our visit with the primary this morning. He spent about 30 min with us. We went over all his meds and he took a couple away but added another for his BP. We were lucky and he gave us samples of the new medicine. We checked his new BP machine against the reading the nurse got and it was pretty accurate. His BP was great there today-117/76! We can't figure out why it rises late in the afternoon but hopefully the new medicine will keep it in check.
After his appt, we went to several thrift stores and I scored big. Most places had clothes on sale for half price. I got 2 pr of shorts for .25 each, a couple of tops for $1 each at one place, at another got tops for $1 also. My big find was a lamp for our family room with a new shade on it-got that for $13. A new lamp shade costs more than that! DH even got a couple of tank shirts on our bargain hunts.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Pat

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much recently, but I want to pop in for a moment and balance out all of the bad news you guys seem to be having about your health issues recently with some good health news that I got this week.

I went to see my neurologist on Wednesday and she showed me the pictures from the MRI I had last month. I have a heck of a lot of MS lesions in my brain (she said it's obvious that at some point MS was really kicking my butt emoticon ) but absolutely no active lesions. emoticon My MS is not progressing at this point in time.(Hooray!!) Some of the lesions look larger than they did in my last MRI but that may have to do with the fact that the MRI technology is more advanced than what was used the last time I had an MRI, which was 5 years ago. So she set me up to have another one in 6 months so that we could compare 2 from the same technology and be absolutely certain that there are no significant changes going on in my poor old brain. I'm not thrilled about the idea of having another MRI, but I do agree that the information it will give us will be quite valuable.

So the big thing is that I have no active MS lesions at this time, and I'm absolutely thrilled about that. My neurologist told me that if she had only seen my MRI pictures and had never examined me in person she would expect my clinical picture to be much worse than it is. I guess there's something to be said for being a stubborn old gal. emoticon Anyway, I hope that the rest of you get some good news from your own health issues soon. I'll try to pop in again sometime soon. Everyone have a great weekend.

Pat, that is such good news. Let's hope it continues.

Sandy, that doesn't sound very positive. I hope you do have a good app't on Monday and you get the answers you need.

Wow, an answer back quickly. I hope you get something to help with the pain. I know how a shoulder can really effect your whole day. I had a frozen shoulder once and it was hard to get comfortable, whether sitting or standing or doing much of anything. Good luck.

Hair cut yesterday, then home to do more planting in the garden. We have way too many cucumbers now and zucchini and I have to figure out where to put the excess cucumber plants DH bought and the celery he brought home. I suppose it's better than not enough.

I finally gave up after an hour because of the black flies and sweat flies. My goodness, they are fierce. I was getting bitten all over from the black flies and those sweat flies actually chew! I'll finish up Saturday morning. We're going out to supper tonight. It's my birthday and I'm NOT spending it in the garden getting eaten by bugs! emoticon

I was very surprised that my surgeon answered me within an hour via email. I am going to see him so he can find out the problem. He said that everyone heals differently and the pop did not bother him as much as the subsequent pain. So I will feel better after I see him.

SRivers - I hope you have a good appt on Monday and can get some answers.

Pat - I am hopeful that your hubby continues to have good results.

Copperpenny - have you heard back from your doctor since the growth was removed?

Thank you everyone. I have 2 more cords that have now popped out in my hand. I showed it to my PT guy today at my last appointment today. He is going to send notes to the doctor tomorrow so he has them on Monday when I see my Hand doctor. My PT guy even agrees that it is time for surgery. Massage is not going to help the Dupuytren's Disease. The cords are pulling too much.

Sounds like everyone has Health issues. I hope all of you get things taken care of. Sorry, that this short but, having a really hard time today.

Have a good week.

Linda I hope your dr gets back to you quickly. Sounds like it is something that needs attended to sooner rather than later.
Laurie I am like you-big list maker and work on getting things crossed off. I have lists in the family room, kitchen and dining room! They are mostly for our trip and when I think of something I need to remember I put it on one of them. Hopefully I won't forget anything major.
We were without power yesterday evening from 6:20 till 9:15. Sure cut into my Spark time. It got rather warm in here too. We went out for a ride in the golf cart to help cool us down but about dark the mosquitoes drive you in!
DH & I have been walking about 7 am to beat the heat. He goes under protest. He had to be at the urologist at 8:30 this morning. His PSA is 0.0 so he is virtually cancer free. They will do another check in 3 mo and then I think we go to 6 mo. His BP was great there today-beginning to wonder if this new meter is defective - taking it to his primary appt tomorrow and will compare it to what they get.

Once again, I get busy and can't post/visit and so much going on. Linda, I hope you get an answer back quickly. A pop loud enough to wake you certainly doesn't sound good.

Pat, an ice maker should make life a lot easier and save you money in the long run. I don't blame you. When was it you planned to leave?

Yes, I do my best to keep busy. If not, I wouldn't get anything done at all. I feel that I have a lazy soul. I have to combat that by making a nice long list of things to accomplish and then keep busy with it so I don't just act like a slug all the time. Best to get up early and keep busy all day. I wish that would translate to weight loss, but it doesn't seem to.

Sandy, I hope something is done soon for you. It sounds as if you hand isn't staying the same at all, it changes and not for the better.

School is out here...for the students...not for me. Now is one of my busy times, loads to do now that it's quite. I have to move files, store some, start some, just be very busy and when it's quiet and I can do so much more. It's nice.

Laurie

Linda: That doesn't sound good about your shoulder. There may be a simple fix by sliding it back into place. Why not call your clinic?

G.

Enjoy each day.
