Copperpenny - I make a lot of my own cleaning items. You can check out My Secrets by clicking on the link below to check them out.

Hope everyone had a wonderful 3 day weekend. Had flowers send to my dads grave at Ft. Rosecrans in San Diego. My son took them for me. My father serviced in WW II as a fighter pilot. I have a 2 cousins who serviced in Iraq and Deseret Storm very proud of them all.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

I was wondering if anyone made their own cleaning supplies? I have a friend whose d-i-l gave her some things she had made. She was talking about all the money she was saving but at the same time about how some of the stuff to make them was hard to find. So, does this home made stuff really work? Is there a book on how to make all this cleaning stuff? Thanks for your help!

Waiting to see if the rain lets up some-a rough nite. Our weather radio went off several times, tornado warnings to the west of us. Abbie was a nervous wreck so didn't let us get a lot of sleep. We are going to see if our friends still want to leave at 10 or if they want to wait to see if rain lets up. Hmmmm, this may be a washout today, but hopefully will clear up some so we can go to the beach and enjoy St. Augustine.

Stayed home today. Didn't use gas or spend money. Cooked everything from scratch. It was a great feeling. And, didn't cost a cent.

Almost ready to shove off-will pray we don't wash out to sea-ha ha. Has rained off and on most of today and tonite it is thundering and raining hard. Poor Abbie is scared so I am trying to type around her! She is sitting in the middle of my lap along with my laptop.
I will be MIA while we are camping-no internet so catch up with everyone when we get back.

A previous idea that bears repeating.

Long ago someone suggested freezing left over veggies and when you have enough make vegetable soup. I have done this several times and it is great. With only two of us now we seem to always have leftovers and my hubby loves vegetable soup. I use powdered chicken stock for liquid. Usually I have to add a can of tomatoes so I get a case at price club to keep on hand.

I hope you all are having a great weekend and taking time out to remember why you do get that extra time off from work. Freedom is not free and this is the time we especially remember those who willingly gave their all.
We are supposed to go to a BBQ this evening at 5 BUT I am heating thunder and we have already had a small shower so hoping it doesn't totally ruin things BUT we need rain so badly we will just have to deal if it is raining-he he!
I fnished loading everything except the food and cameras in the rv for our trip-we won't leave till Tues but it is supposed to rain Mon so wanted to have most of the loading finished so I didn't have to worry about it.

Darla, I don't want to hurt your feelings but don't you think you're moving a little fast? And if he doesn't want to hear about the ex (understandable) that doesn't mean you can't talk to your kids or anyone you still like in that family. And so many people helped you get set up where you are now that don't you think that you ought to stay awhile at least? I don't know but from what you're saying, he's controling & that's the thing that has always thrown you for a loop. You're still young - don't rush into anything. Friends are the gems of life. Make some good, solid ones. Learn yourself. I lost a long time friend this month. She was a great person. However, she spent her life waiting for the knight on the white horse to rescue her. I kept telling her to be her own knight & get out in the world. She was always afraid that if she got into something she'd "have" to give it up if she met "the one". When she did get into a relationship it always ended when the guy got tired of her wrapping her life around him. I talked ot one of them who really cared for her but he said she refused to get her own intrests & be a person herself. He didn't want a "doll". I don't mean to upset you but please think You've come so far.

Good Morning:

On this Memorial Day weekend I'm thinking about the death of all those who died in battle. I imagine how scared they all were, some of dying and others of surviving. How awful war it. it kills and maims and changes a person forever. Were it that we all could mind our own business and live in peace.

Beautiful day today here. It was 76. We did a few things around the house here. He boys fixed the vent line to the dryer and cleaned it out. Now the lint isn't flying every where. We had asked the landlord to fix it but he said it was fine, really? Well, it is fixed the right way now and cleaned out. Only took us 3 hours to clean it all up , the floor, walls, dryer, vent line, etc. To put the new vent hose in was about 5 minutes. So, the laundry room is now very clean and organized.

Tomorrow is the garden. We picked up a few more plants. We also have a few plants to transplant into larger pots too.

Have a great rest of the long weekend.emoticon

I ran some errands today and then headed to the pool later this afternoon and it felt good as it was about 92 out there. Trying to follow the weather to see if it is going to cause a problem for our camping trip-we are going to be near St. Augustine right on the Atlantic and with Beryl predicted to come in Sun or Mon that may pose a problem. Seems our camping outings are always full of excitement one way or the other!!!

Hi,
I am back again wearing a pain patch and using a walker. I am at least getting some exercise now with the walker even though it does not use as many calories as my usual walking--it is something.

It seems several of us are having problems, so here is wishing us well.

Pat - Hope you hear from the doctor before you leave. Have a great time on your trip.

Darla - That is wonderful news that you have computers there and you don't have to go so far. It will be good to hear from you more often.

Laurie - Thank you. The brace is helping. I have another PT on Tuesday. I'm only allowed 25 sessions so, the doctor say only do three, & now I know why, as the Therapist said there's not much he can do for me. So, I will save them for after the surgery.

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend. It was beautiful here today.

Darla it was good to hear from you. Sounds like you are getting settled in. You will have ups and downs in a relationship until you get to know each other-just keep taking things slow and if you are to be together it will work out.
I got the mh cleaned up this morning and ready to pack up again so will work on that tomorrow as we might get rain Sun & Mon and I don't want to be doing it in a downpour (probably wishful thinking!).
We went out with our friends, Vicky & Sonny, for lunch. Today was her birthday so we had a nice luncheon and got to celebrate it with them. They will be camping with us next week.
Didn't get the results on DH today so will call Tues to remind them they need to call our cell if they don't have them before we leave.
The tech finished working on our sprinklers tonite so got that taken care of. We wanted to be sure that they were all working good this summer so we didn't come back to a dead landscape.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hello Friends,
Well I just forgot that my apt complex has computers so now i can be on here more and not have to go to the library all the time. I am drying my clothes in the laundry room and got my apt halfway clean yesterday. Still have some more to do. I have a good man in my life and we just had our first real fight the other day but I think we are okay now. He is just tired of hearing about my ex husband. So I am just not going to talk to anyone in that family anymore so I can be with Mike and his family. Even my kids agrreed on that and it is their dad! lol It is not easy to blend two families but we are working on it. Have to get use to each other first and we are getting there. Harder to date at 47 than when I was younger! I do like my apt but it is so far away from MIke that we dont' get to see each other that much. So I may have the chance to move again and be able to move closer to him. I did make some really good friends in Haven for Hope the shelter and I want to keep in touch with them. Well hope everyone has a good day! Darla

Sandy, arthritis is no fun and I hope the brace helps with the pain.

Still kind of dreary here, but cooler. Humidity isn't as bad as it was.

I was very busy last night, got a lot done, but DD isn't coming up after all. She had to work after all today, her boss often has her work at the last minute when she's about to leave or have some time off. That's okay, I have so much done that I usually do on Saturday morning, so now I can spend the time doing other things.

It will be a great weekend for working in the garden. I can't wait. Some of my seedlings are so ready to be planted. I was going to wait until the first weekend in June, but I don't think I can. They are far too big to be kept inside much longer and need the room to grow. I'm very excited. Besides, it's so much fun to get out there and play in the dirt.

What a great day-we finally got our ice maker fixed-had a service call scheduled for this morning and since they had given us the wrong water valve the tech put the correct one on and didn't charge us the service call-how about that for showing some integrity in business.

I got a nap this afternoon and we got some much needed rain-not enough for this drought but every little bit counts.

Hoping to get the call from the dr tomorrow-if not, I will check with them about noon and if it isn't in will give them our cell number.

Have a great weekend.

Pat - Hope all test come out good for your Hubby.

Laurie - Sounds like you have been busy.

Gail - you have nothing to explain to any of us we all understand. You need to take care of you and spend time with Vic. With what you going thought right now I would not worry about anything. Val is right.

Val - Sorry that you don't get enough light in your place to have a little garden. Is there a place where you are at that you could plant a small garden with a few others. Like a public garden. I know you said you are pretty busy.

I had PT today and it went good. That is the good news. The bad news is the type of arthritis I guess I have is degenerative and the only way to fix it is by surgery and removing the bone. So, I know wear a brace to help me. I have PT one a week. No pity Party here as I will continue to go on. I was told that it will effect all my joint probably. I am in great spirits and am looking forward now to working in my garden this weekend.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe 3 day weekend.

Pat, I hope your hubby's tests come out well so he stop feeling like a pincushion and feel better. You did get lucky with your camper.

Another semi-dreary day, but the humidity is starting. Feels good inside, but outside it getting a bit steamy. Too early for that. Yuck!

I'm cleaning up the house, odds and ends, really and doing laundry tonight, just in case my DD decides to take a mini-vacation and comes up to visit with our grandson. She said her DH has to work this weekend and she might come visit us. If she doesn't, that's okay, I'll have a jump on the housework and I can spend more time outside, getting the garden ready. Either way, it's good to get some of this stuff done now.

Gail I hope you will continue to take care of yourself - don't worry about your food choices. Time will come when you can, but not now.
DH went to the cardiologist on Mon and he is going to do a stress test on him (June 5) and if it is ok, he will take him off the plavix and then we will have more options on his other meds. I hope it goes well and it all works to get him off of the plavix. He has to go for bloodwork tomorrow to recheck his hemoglobin. He says he feels like a pincushion.
We took our motorhome in to get the generator worked on yesterday and picked it up today. We were extremely lucky-it was just out of adjustment so only charge was an hour of labor.
Now we are ready for our next camping trip.

I didn't take notes, probably should have, so please forgive me for not being able to comment on everyone.

Gail, you can't do everything. You do have try to take care of yourself, but do what you can. You need to keep yourself going.

Sandy, when I had a frozen shoulder, PT saved me. I did exactly what was I was told and then a little extra...I was given exercises to practice on my own...and everything worked out so well. I think I have 98-100% of my range of motion back. I had a great PT.

Val, it took me over 30 years to talk my hubby into putting in a garden. Not because we didn't have the room, but because he hated pulling weeds. Honestly, that's the only reason. I knew nothing about gardening, it's just something I'd wanted to do since I was little. We have plenty of room, I wanted to save money, our kids loved veggies, so I thought it was a no-brainer. Let's have a garden! He kept saying no. When I took him to the grocery store and showed him the prices of the frozen veggies and the quality of some of the fresh veggies, he finally said yes. Should have done that much sooner!

Gail, you definitely do not need to be worrying about whether or not you are making the proper food choices right now. You're lucky to just be able to get food from your mouth to your belly at a time like this. There will be plenty of time to get back on track later. Most of the time nobody's going to tell you that you can get back to it later, but I think that this time in your life is an exception to that. Try to remember to take a few seconds in the middle of all of this to take care of yourself. emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon

Good morning:

I had four hours yesterday to run errands as a hospice volunteer came to stay with Vic. It was like a whirlwind: car wash, Savers, library, hospice thrift shop, two supermarkets and Arby's. I was exhausted by the time I got home and fell asleep in my chair, barely able to read a chapter of a mystery.

My food choices have been poor over the last few weeks, but I'm not beating myself up over it. I'm being gentle with myself because it is taking everything out of me just to get through the day.

Our beautiful weather has been joyous and I'm trying to get outside as much as possible if only to go to the mailbox or sweep the porch.

Thinking of you all,

G.

Enjoy each day.

I love avocadoes but I can't have them very often because I'm allergic to latex and people who are allergic to latex are likely to develop allergies to bananas and avocadoes, too. I used to love eating swiss cheese and avocado sandwiches...back in the old days...

I've thought about trying to make an indoor garden in pots but I really don't have enough windows that get sun to be able to do it in this apartment. I was able to do it in my old apartment and I miss that.

My work week started out okay, hope the week started out well for the rest of you.

There was much rejoicing!

I just eat the avocados sliced mainly or in my salad. I am not that fond of them but I know they are good for me so I eat them!
Today was flower shopping day (Vicky & I went to both Home Depot and Lowes) and now have purchased the bulk of what we will plant this summer. I normally do a lot more but since we plan to be gone, I am not putting out as many as I usually do. I got some of them planted this evening. That is going to have to be done early in the morning or late in the evening as it is just oo hot in the middle of the day.
I spent nearly 2 hours at the pool this afternoon and really enjoyed it. Now that my cold is practically cleared up I plan to start going most days. I am going to let my gym membership go on hold for the summer since we will be traveling so no sense paying for something I am not going to get must use out of. I will renew it in Sept so till then it is going to be walking and pool time for my exercise (besides all my gardening).
Gail I am glad that you are having some quality time with Vic. Hugs to you both.
Pat

Val - I had an apartment and had planted a garden in pots and it was wonderful.

Gail - I am so glad that Vic is getting around. You are right it is about quality of life and what makes Vic happy.
Diffidently going to try PT. The doctor did say that I will have to have surgery down the road. But, for now anything thing to help. It is more the Dupentery disease that is keeping from doing anything at all as it is pulling my fingers into the palm of my hand which mean I can't play golf as I can't hold the club comfortable due to the bump.

Have a great rest of the weekend. Hope everyone has an opportunity to try the Easy Low Cal Recipe.

I'm so jealous of all you folks who have yards and gardens. When I was growing up my mom practically had a jungle in the back yard and it was so wonderful. We had apples, apricots, plums, peaches, tomatoes, cherries, a vegetable garden, grapes and strawberries that practically took over the entire back yard. Needless to say, I was very spoiled as a teenager by all of that. It's really not possible to have a garden when you live in an apartment like mine. I've got no yard at all, so nowhere to put a garden.emoticonOh well, maybe one day I'll live in a house again...

Not much going on in my neck of the woods. I had to buy a new cell phone and I was sick on Thursday and Friday. I don't really have anything else to report so I'm just going to sign off for now and post again when I have something worth talking about. I hope that you've all had a really great weekend.

There was much rejoicing!

Good Morning:

Well, yesterday was quite a day. It was very hot so I opened all the windows. In the evening I closed them but one, upstairs, wouldn't close. Poor Vic somehow made it upstairs and got it closed with the use of some tools. Then he made it downstairs. He's been staying downstairs 24/7 for weeks now since he has been so weak. This past week he decided to stop taking all his medications except one. He thought they were making him nauseous and dizzy. Since he's stopped he's feeling better, and that's what it's all about...quality of life.

Sandy: Take it from me, PT works. BUT you must do the exercises as often as the PT tells you and you must do as many reps as they say. I have the worst arthritis in my left arm and shoulder (bone on bone) and I do the stretches...the most important exercise...every day, no matter what. I rarely have pain and do nothing else, aside from taking ibuprofen a couple of times a month if I hurt,

Pat: Sounds like you are all off to a good start with your gardening. I'd love to have an avocado tree. I eat them at least once a week. I usually have an avocado with lemon juice and soy sauce, or I have it with some tabasco and lime juice. How do you eat them?

Happy Sunday.

Gail

Enjoy each day.

It sounds like everyone is busy in their gardens and yards. Just we are all at different stages. I usually try to put out a couple tomato plants but decided to skip it this year since we will be gone 6-8 weeks and in this heat it would kill them without water. We do have a pineapple this year, hoping it doesn't get ripe till we return! That is one plant you have to be patient with-took 3 years to get this one fruit. We have 3 more plants and nothing on them-maybe next year! Our avocado bloomed but no fruit. They say it takes 5-7 yrs and this one is only 3 years in the ground but about 12 ft tall now-we even pruned the top to keep it smaller and think we will do that again-we don't want to let it get too big as it is between our house and the neighbors so want to make sure it doesn't grow over his roof!
DH tried to repair my icemaker with a new timer today, but it was leaking when he finally got it in so thinking he needs another part! Thank goodness we can get ice from the clubhouse. I love my ice and this thing has been out since early this year!!
We walked early this morning but I haven't been real ambitious-this cold is still wearing me down. I did some paperwork and filing but otherwise, I was a bum today.

Recipe sounds great. I'll have to pass it on. We cleaned out the fish pond today after I watered some things & Bill ran some errands. This week he got in one of my rain barrels & we did a lot of weeding & pruening. He'll have to do the blackberry bed as it has some poison ivy growing in it & I can't get near it. We just have some pruening & spraying & we'll be in the maintance stage. June I want to get our craft room in order. He says he has some things he want to take to the auction. Just to get it in order will be something. It was 92 today but the humitity was low.

Hope everyone had a good & safe day!

TOTHEFUTURE1 - Thank you.

OK everyone here is a great recipe that my Aunt just gave me and it is LOW CAL! It's Called 3-2-1 Cake

You mix 1 box of Angel food cake with any type of cake box mix you like. Put it into a tight sealed jar so you can keep it on a shelf. Now this is great fun if you have grand kid or kids.

When you have people over you take the jar out and in a microwaveable cup you add

3 Tbsp. of the cake mix
2 Tbsp water and mix good.
Microwave for 1 min.
Then take a knife and run it around the side of the cup.
The little cake will pop out.
You can decorate it with berries, power sugar, little candy (for the kids) or any thing else you can think of. It's fast and easy. So, if you ever have people come over or need a dessert fast here is one that is quick and low cal. Hope you enjoy!

Good morning:

The weather has been beautiful here and despite my urgings, Vic has stayed indoors. Finally, yesterday, our dd convinced him to go outside. They sat in the back yard and she showed him things on the iPod.

I got out twice this week and had lunch with friends. it was so good to see the outer world. The relief volunteers from hospice are lovely people; on is a retired gentleman and the other is a retired nurse.

Sending love to you all.

Gail

Enjoy each day.

I'm happy your DH is feeling so much better. The afternoon naps are a good thing, probably enough to energize him for the rest of the day.

Looks like we'll finally have a string of good weather, with only one possible rainy day in the middle. It's about time! We need more sunny days for a while. I asked DH if we could get some work done on the garden this weekend, then next weekend we could start plotting where to plant things, get the fence up and maybe in two weeks, we'll be set to actually put the plants in the ground, along with the seeds that didn't need to be started yet. I'm so excited about this year. I'm all set to spend a lot of time out there.

And to think, I'm not a big veggie eater. I like doing this because it saves us soooo much money and DH has a huge variety of veggies to eat and we can share with our kids. Now that we have a grandson, he can share as well and he loves his veggies and he already loves his Grandma's dill pickles!

So, as far as exercise, it's kind of a toss up. I'll do plenty of moving with my regular housework, vacuuming, washing floors (I do them at least once a week), hanging my clothes on the line, possibly washing windows and some yardwork. The big decision for the day....do I want to mow the lower lawn or let DH do that and work out on the elliptical? Decisions, decisions....

Laurie

Rain is still going around us-maybe one of these days it will be our turn. I got the west side of the house weeded (again) and now the new mulch is in so hoping that slows things down with the weeds (I even added preen to the bed).
Next week I plan to work in the park gardens and get that project finished up. Mornings are cool enough to work, but by afternoon one really doesn't want to be out in the heat. It may say spring, but it is summer down in Fl.
DH felt good enough to help a friend cut down a grapefruit tree today and to cut it up and haul it away. I am amazed every day by how well he is doing. He takes his nap every afternoon but has so much more energy. I guess the misfortune in Fort Meyers was really a blessing in disquise.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Our second pretty day in a row. Even if I did have to scrape the frost off my windshield this morning, it will warm up. It's still a very pretty day. I mowed the lawn when I got home yesterday and it took an hour. The grass had grown so high and so thick from all the rain we had this week and it had been only 5 days since I last mowed. Nevertheless, I still needed to mow it again because it was so bad. Looks so much better now and I had one heck of a workout. We still have a lot more lawn that needs mowing...the other side of the driveway, the backyard...but DH will probably get that or I can do this afternoon.

I leave work early today so we can bury my step-dad. He passed away in Jan, but of course, our ground is frozen then and we have to wait until spring for the burial. Should be a relatively quick ceremony, we already had a service and reception. This is just sad because it's really final now and his birthday is later this month.

That's why i hate renting! I ended up fixing what needed fixing. Hope he sees reason.

Bill took care of the brush pile while I finished the Iris dead heading & weeded on the big flower bed. The he put in one of th erain barrells & I fixed 5 wind chimes. Took a nail & put it in the string hole & bent the end down so it made a bar across the inside of the pipe. Then restrung the string just going around the nail. Now there's no friction with the string & the pipe. Worked longer out side today than ever before. But we really need the rain.

Hope everyone has a good & safe day!

Pat - Glad to hear that your Hubby is doing better.

Laurie - Sorry to hear that you had another migraine.

Darla - Glad to hear that things are better for you.

Gail - Thank you for the information.

Saw the hand doctor today and he wants me to do Physical therapy for right now at least 3 times. He doesn't think it will help but wants me to try it. Then it will be cortizone shot to the wrist. The problem is this the small bone in the wrist has a bone spur, which means arthritis and PT doesn't always help the inflammation and the shot just masks the problem but, by doing all the steps the insurance company won't deny the surgery when it comes down to it. The doctor said he will have to take out out the bone and that will help the nerve and inflammation problems. So, for now I'm following doctor's orders. He also gave me 2 different braces to wear. One is for at night.

Have a great weekend everyone and Thank you so much for listening to me rant the last two days. emoticon

So far we haven't gotten any rain today-I went ahead and let our sprinklers run this morning since we are so far down on the totem pole with our rain.
I didn't work in my gardens since the sprinklers ran and everything was wet so went up and worked in the park gardens till about 9:30. I am hoping to finish up at home tomorrow and that will be a relief.
DH has been working on some of his honey-do list today so glad to get a few things taken care of. Hoping he had figured out why our icemaker isn't working (it quit back in Jan & I love my ice)-if what he did today doesn't work, it means we need a new water valve.

We're finally seeing the sun today. It's been quite windy, but that's a good thing because it should help the grass dry out. I just might get my exercise by mowing the lawn when I get home instead of using the elliptical. Either way, I'll exercise today.

I did have a migraine, but I took one of my pills and it went away. I'm kind of tired now, the pills do that, but with such a pretty day, there is no way I'm napping when I get home. I'm going to get busy. Besides, I'm on a roll with my exercising and I don't want to stop now.

Darla it was so good to hear from you. I have been wondering how you are doing. I was afraid with you moving you might not have internet access. I hope you and your new friend take things slow and really get to know each other well. It is always nice to have someone to depend on.
We have had more rain today which limited my work outside. I got about 1/3 of the west side of the house done and hope to finish it up this week. I plan to have everything done here at home by the end of the week so I can concentrate on the park for a couple of weeks. I know things will go to pot while we are traveling this summer but if it is in good shape when we leave maybe it won't be so bad when I return (most likely wishful thinking on my part!).
DH had his dr visit this afternoon and his hemoglobin is up to 9.3 but potassium is still low (3.1) so he has to go for another blood test in a week to see if things are moving in the right direction. He will see him again in another month (before we leave for up north).
We will make decisions on all the new meds after seeing the cardiologist next Mon. We are hoping he will take him off the plavix as that will give us more options on his medicine for the GI problem. I was elated with his cholesterol (137) and triglycerides (83) and blood sugar (101). At least we are on the right track on some things.

Thank you everyone for you support. I do have a home back in California that we are going to sell. We decided when we moved back to Washington that we would rent as it would be easier and less work.

As far as the landlord we still have not heard from him at all. We had e-mailed him and we were not going to stay the year but stay till we found a place to live. But, with a up coming surgery and feeling like we are rushing to find a place we decided that we will stay a year. So, my Hubby called and had to leave him a message and also asked for a clarification of the rent increase and let him know that we were not too happy about it. Plus he told him that last year we wanted to sign a 2 yr contact at the amount we are paying and he had said not to worry that he wouldn't raise it. Well, he still hasn't returned our call and has not e-mailed us. Hubby said he will give him till tomorrow and then call him again.

See my hand doctor tomorrow to find out when I have surgery. I can't wait as it has been really bother me and keeping me up at night.

Good News is the new Migraine meds are really helping me and so are the menopause meds too. My stress level, believe it or not is low thanks to all of you and my Hubby.

So, again Thank you very much to all of you for the support.emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon

Hello Friends,
Sorry I have not been on here but now that I have my own apt I have to go to the library and just dont' get down here very much. I love my apt and doing well with that. Do have some regrets. Takes me 2 hours on the bus to go anywhere and Sec 8 opened and if I get on it I may have a chance to move closer to downtown. The buses run more often downtown. They only run every hour here. I had one guy I was seeing but he was too controlling and got rid of him. Had a good friend that has now turned into love! Mike is great guys and we have just talked and hugged! He told me he loved me yesterday and I told him I loved him too! He is such a good man. I ask him why he liked me and he said it was because I put up with his crap! lol He is really worried about me and my kids for me going through so much viloence with my ex husband who is also my kids Dad. He pretty much beat me up. been divorced for 25 years now! just never found the right man! I have lost 75 pounds now and feelling reallly good. Hope everyone is doing well and I will try to get down here more oftent to keep in touch! Love to all Darla

Good Morning: I saw this on Yahoo features yesterday and thought it would be helpful. It's all about selling your used, unwanted items.

Sandy: So sorry for your problems. You know a verbal commitment is like a contract. Go to legal aid and see what they can do for you. Many years ago I had a commitment on the price of a piano. I asked how they preferred payment, personal check or bank check. (We never argued on the price they asked.) The next day the lady said she could get more for it. I told her I need to contact my attorney; a verbal contract is a contract none-the-less. She acquiesced and sold it to us at the agreed upon price.

Miss Jean: Good for you on the exercise.

Pat: I'll bet your flower garden will be gorgeous.

Enjoy each day.

I'm really sorry you have such an *ss for a landlord. I don't see how he can raise your rent with so much work to be done. Is there a renter's association you can complain to? I've never rented, so I really have no idea what I'm talking about, just wondering. Just seems like there has to be some recourse for you, someone who can make him keep the rent down since he's not doing any of the necessary repairs in order to your home safe.

Pat, I hope you get some good news and it sounds like you're getting your flower garden in good shape. I've pretty much given up on my flower garden. I've put a lot of my plants into containers now and we're concentrating on our veggie garden instead. We put a fence around it to keep the dogs out....DH's pug is the worst offender...and then we have a nice garden.

I exercised again when I got home from work...this is a big deal for me. I've been such a slug for so long due to my migraines being so unsettled and I feel so much better now. I love it. Some of my muscles aren't happy, but they will be.

Laurie
