I have never followed Flylady, but for the past 40+ years, I have made a practice of picking things up every nite so I didn't have to face a mess the next morning. I made my sons put their toys away every nite and my DH thought that was silly since they would just get stuff back out the next day but we never had a messy house and fell over toys. One son is still a neat freak like me so guess it did pass on. The other must have gotten his father's genes! Ha ha. However, my DH always hung his clothes up every nite (he wore suits to work back then) and put his tools away so he too had some neat tendencies. I guess this all went back to when I was a young bride and my mother-in-law stopped by unexpectedly and my house was a mess, sink full of dishes, dirty laundry, etc. - I never wanted that to happen to me again and it hasn't! Of course back then, I was working full time and attending college nearly full time so didn't have much extra time and DH worked whenever he wasn't in school so neither of us spent much time at home back then. Now, I want to check out this website.

Yep, been following Flylady for years. can't say my house is near perfect, but hate to think what it would be like without her. She is a positive influence, upbeat, optimistic, and I need frequent contact and encouragement in my email, lol.. I had a break in working outside my home a couple of years ago and really worked her program, and can tell you with certainty - my house looked great all the time. I work full time now, and would have to hussle harder than I am willing to do everything as she recommends, but I am not embarrassed when company comes, and my main/visitor bathroom is always ready for guests. My bed is made every morning, I go to bed at night with a empty sink and it looks great in the morning, laundry is current, etc...love Flylady.

Yes - I got in the habit of doing a quick pick-up/put-away each evening and it really makes a difference in keeping clutter under control.

I've used FLYLADY for about 4 years now, and she's made a huge difference in my life. I also subcribe to a menu group that I found out about on her site: savingdinner.com. Between SparkPeople and Saving Dinner, I'm healthier in my 50s than I've ever been before in my life!

Have any of you had any experience or luck following the FlyLady? Her stuff is at www.flylady.net and it talks about getting rid of clutter and all of that.
