DMIL is a good one for any type of plant, so we give her a new one each year. Last year, it was an apple tree. We would have given her another one this year, but the day kind of snuck up on us. DMIL just got out of the hospital from having her hip replaced and there have been other family issues to deal with. DH bought her a hanging plant because she loves having flowers hanging in front of the house.

My kids haven't been giving me gifts, they just call me. Nice and inexpensive and I don't mind. I just want to talk to them anyway. DS doesn't have much money, so don't want him to spend it on me, he can come up and do something for me later and DD is busy with a new baby. Let her spend her money on him.

Laurie

This year the gift to my grandchildren's mom Heather will be simple, nice frames for the great photos their Dad is taking of them as portraits. I also given each grandchild a gift, as they are the reason Heather is a Mom and I love them all. Dad's Day is more difficult, but framing supplies and art supplies seem to be on his list right now. Perenial plants that can be outdoors are also fun.

I found an adorable picture of my kids when they were little (they are no 22 and 19).
I will print it in black and white and frame it for my mom.

My one daughter usually gets me a hanging flower basket.
I used to get my mom plants because it was just time to plant them. I tried to get something nicer than she would have chosen.
Now that she is in a nursing home - might get her a new photo album.

I will post a picture. I plan on using strawberries and pineapple and grapes. Nothing too big but special.

I haven't. But, it shouldn't be that hard especially with cookie cutters and melon ball maker. You might want to look it up on the web and take a look at the pictures.

I think it would make for a really nice present. Good luck.
