This summer the whole family has been running, swimming, and hiking together. Mostly free and great to spend time together away from the tv.

When children were at home, we camped for vacation and often on weekends visited nearby ghost towns and other interesting FREE spots.

Now older and less active, we walk the mall in summer and the park in the cooler weather. There is always yard work and toddler care too that provides exercise.

We have some wonderful "splash pads" here. One is on our bike trail. So, if we fell especially motivated we can ride our bikes. This kids play in the water and we ride home. It only cost us calories:)

Camping for us as well. We also have monthly family potlucks, get out the songbooks and sing hymns together. We like to get together and play games. We even have a family trophy for pegs and jokers that gets passed to the family that wins our Thanksgiving Day Pegs and Jokers tournament.

There is a city park within walking distance of our house. It has a new "Frisbee Golf" course. We haven't tried it yet, but have been reading the rules on the internet. We don't have the "professional" type of Frisbee, but I bet the one we have can be used by beginners.

We took several camping trips together.
Mom and Dad would load us in the truck and we would take off to a different state every year.
We had a pull behind and also took tents and sleeping bags for us kids.

We bike, run, play ball, go to the library, video parties in mom and dad's room, camping in the backyard, trips to university museums (they're free). We're always trying to come up with something new.
