Have any of you walked a 1/2 marathon? Any tips? My sister and I are training to walk one in May.

Yesterday I exercised indoors and outdoors. I will exercise indoors after work today. I'd love to go for a nice walk, but it's pouring rain out and thundering and lightning.

Do you feel any one plan is better than the others and what plan do you try to follow the most?

I think the extreme plans (the ones that completely restrict a food group or require you to eat tons on 1 thing) are probably worse than the more reasonable plans. I try to follow the Sparkpeople guidelines. It's doable and sensible.

I think any plan will work as long as you stick with it strictly. For me personally, I'm trying to do a combination of low carb/low fat/ lower calorie. Basically trying to keep everything as low as I can; but pushing heaviest on the lower calories.

FIRST QUESTION:
Do you find yourself losing weight on a steady basis or do you tend to take weeks or months to get thru a 10 lb stretch?

For me, it seems to take me about 3 months to go from one 10 lb set to the next. I tend to yo-yo badly so it's sometimes a struggle to get into the next set of numbers (240's down to 230's, etc).
